Why? Because:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God";
Romans 3:23 KJV

How can a believer in good conscience partake in Communion and not have asked God for forgiveness and repented his sin?

Forgiveness, confession and repentance are all central to Christianity.

And that’s why we should be.....and I am .....praying for him.

He could be used....God could use him to do good for our nation

I pray that he will know God in a very real way!

Typical unbeliever’s response. It is not surprising. I have heard it before. You cannot fault him for being a typical unbeliever. At least he is not lying about it.

Well ...

One way of taking his comment would be: "I am totally sinless. I don't need Jesus. I've never done anything wrong in my entire life. I am a perfect human being."

OR

You could take his words to mean: "I think my political campaign is going pretty well, and I see no reason to apologize for my current success."

My feeling -- he's not talking theology and his relationship with God. He's talking about his relationship with the media.

Why I’d like to see someone else as our candidate. We deserve better than Trump.

So, do you guys want a ‘repentant’ as President, or someone that can stand up to anything thrown at him, in a point of strength?

Reagan, an irish Catholic, IIRC, did not take a ‘repentant’ stand, but was still a christian.

Bush and kasich go the ‘love’ route. Both are weak, to me.

When it is fitting for a politician to become ‘religious’, look out. I would rather have someone who is strong, and quiet in their faith, and by no means a perjurer as obama is.

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

He was asked a question about his belief his theology and that was his answer. Try again.

I do not see it so much as an ego. I see it as an everyman response. I heard it from my inlaws. “We are good people...” The gospel made them angry. They asked why they would go to Hell when they are good people. It is the natural man’s response. They compare themselves to other men and see themselves as as good as the next guy — often better. But your fellow man is not the standard. God is the standard. We all fall short of God’s law.

I do not fault Trump for being human in that regard. His response is an honest response even though it is an unbeliever’s response.

It is interesting. The following story on FR to this one is about the DOJ allowing Fartakan the safety of free speech so he can call for all whites to be killed. But you guys are jumping all over Trump because he told the truth. Get a life trolls!!!

This is how I interpreted it as well. But I don’t know what question he was responding to.

When it becomes fitting that a man with no true ‘religious’ belief watch out especially when it becomes fine for so many. Even Washington bent his knee to God.

In a democracy you not only get the government you want. You get the government you deserve

I post stories on FR about Fartakan speech. Funny that you choose to ignore that.

So, Donno, focus on lame policy outcomes and those who are responsible. Emotion is good, ad hominym attacks less so.

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you read the article, he’s talking about business.

You know the media is trying to splinter various conservative groups away from him through misrepresentation, right?

Here’s your bible quote for Trump: Matthew 10:16 - “Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.”
