What do these famous lines have in common?
None of them were coined by the president who spoke them.
We may or may not remember these phrases but Oh did they sound good when we heard them!
Each of these “memorable” lines was part of a speech. If they are remembered at all it’s for the sentiment of the speech they were part of. Speeches, after all, are written by assistants who have no power to make the things they write about happen. Only the president who speaks them can do that.
Over the years, especially since the advent of the “television president,” we have come to let these renditions of an assistant’s words pass largely unnoticed because they are designed to show how flowery the president can speak while essentially saying nothing.

When I read that I thought it had a lefty ring to it. Then found out it came from our second worst president.

And the third quote comes from the worst President.
So they are comparing a guy that wants to rebuild America to those that want to destroy it?
“Speeches are speeches; Trumps talks are communications”
True. Maybe that is one of the things that makes him appealing. He doesn’t lecture or pontificate to we lesser mortals. He gives examples of what he is communicating.
Every time I listen to Trump I have the impression he has invited me into his living room for a cup of coffee and a chit chat. He’s very personal and down to earth.
That’s the feeling I get too.
He definitely seems to listening to us.
He doesn’t talk down to us.
Strangely enough, I feel like he IS one of us, even if he is one of the richest men in the world.
