OK, all you Trump supporters..how are you liking his promise of universal (government) health care?
one man's opinion...

Posted on 09/29/2015 6:16:01 AM PDT by ken5050

Well, you can't say we didn't tell you so, or at least try to warn you. But would you listen? NOOOOOOO!!! Much is being said here about Trump's tax proposals..and yes, there is a lot in there that makes sense. But he also said Sunday night that he wanted free, universal, single-payer government run healthcare...and....nary a peep from any of you Trump die-hards.

I know what Trump said. And I know what people are saying he said. I criticized him for his statements on taxes without details, and then he released his tax policy. I suppose I learned my lesson so before I criticize him too much on health care I’d better wait for him to document and release his policy on that, too.

Read the entire interview. He has private insurance for Vets. Private for all who want it and the universal is for the poor. You cannot strip the poor people of health insurance without killing some. The illegals are being deported so it is less.

The Trump haters here are comical, they are acting just like the MSM and the folks over at DU when it comes to this guy.

Agree. Maybe they’re not conservatives, after all. Maybe they’re happy with the status quo, because in reality, they know their so-called favorite just can’t pick up speed, or, like you said - “fire up the crowd”.

I like George Washington and Ronald Reagan....but I know neither have a shot at winning the Presidency, in 2016.

Oh....then there’s this....

At 7:00 in the audio the panel asks Trump about single payer:

“It works for Canada. Not the U.S. I like private enterprise, create competition, private system, open the state lines. I want a lot of bidders. As for those who cannot afford healthcare, you have got to take care of those people. About 25% in this category. Work out deals with hospitals who are not doing that well right now.”

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?

Donald Trump: –the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.

That is the way it looks to me too. If he had a good plan, and someone asked to see it, his supporters would be only too quick and happy to produce it. Their insults, in lieu of a link, speak volumes.

I’m fine with the Gov’t providing a minimal level of medical care.

It is less expensive than getting primary care through the emergency room - which is never paid and passed on to us.

Everyone who wants a better service should be able to spend their own money to Get it.

Constant battle in all nations and it is always lost by the side of fiscal conservatives.

Even if we elect a real president who will get tough and repeal Obamacare, we still need a plan to bring down health-care costs and make health-care insurance more affordable for everyone. It starts with increasing competition between insurance companies. Competition makes everything better and more affordable.
One way to infuse more competition into the market is to let citizens purchase health-care plans across state lines.
This could be easily accomplished if Congress got some guts and did the right thing. The U.S. Constitution gives Congress control over interstate commerce. But for whatever reason, the Congress has never exercised this power regarding health insurance. They need to.
.........................................................

Does this sound like a ONE health care plan? NO...the insurance companies would have to be competitive, Blue Cross-Blue Shield say can insure a family of 4 on premiums of say 600.00 a year (these are examples, so don't get carried away) but Travelers could do the same for 500.00 a year= where is the family of 4 going to pay to get health care? Right, Travelers, because they offer the same things at a lesser cost...

This is what Trump is trying to say, if the pundits and the media and talking heads would tell you the truth...but they don't want you to get rid of obumacare, hillarycare or romneycare because the hospitals, and drug companies and the insurance companies are all in bed together with the government...and yeah he's right, Congress doesn't have a backbone and fight for us on this...

Need a link?

Here is the transcript

Donald Trump: There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, “No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private. But–”

Scott Pelley: Universal health care.

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?

Donald Trump: They’re going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably–

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: –the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.

I’m not distorting his words. Yes, his plan has a significant private market component, but it also has a significant government-provided component. Which his supporters seem to be OK with, for some reason.

Well, hope so. I’m a Cruz supporter, but I actually like Trump for the most part.

I still say that the sum total of his interview indicates some disconcerting tendencies, however, regardless of how his supporters want to spin it.

So there’s no Medicaid component at present? Please show me where Cruz has promised to get rid of Medicaid.

I think Trump is proving to be a totally efficient and engaged candidate. He said he would put out position papers and he is living up to what he said.

We haven’t yet seen his plan for healthcare, but I haven’t seen anyone else offering up anything at all.

Vague refences and saying “We will repeal and replace Obamacare” sounds great. But replace it with what?

So what is your idea? Nobody is going to dump poor folks out of the hospital. Cruz is not going to do that either or he couldn’t win.

We are going to pay for them one way or another.

Hopefully illegals will get the boot

Please show me where Cruz has proposed a massive expansion of Medicaid? Because that is what it would take to make Medicaid cover everyone who can’t afford private insurance.

But go on, please keep supporting a GOP candidate who wants to “take care of everybody.” The fact that he would even use that kind of language should be disqualifying to any conservative voter. But instead, you people eat it up.
