(Things that are favorable to him enjoy high levels of respect from The Donald.) He added: Enjoy! This is the picture Trump wants to highlight. Since July, he's improved dramatically in Suffolk/USA Today's poll.

Of course it really means that polls this far in advance don’t mean anything but that doesn’t fill the page at the WaPo so they print garbage “analysis” like this.

If Bush or Rubio Or FioRino were polling Trump’s numbers, WAPO would be orgasmic. And every one of the other candidates would kill to be sitting with Trump’s poll numbers at this stage.
Silly season is over. People are focusing on impending war with Russia, much more interesting.
So Trump has about a +6% increase from July to September in a very crowded field. How is that bad news for him?

Good discernment. People trash Trump but they don’t look at the flaws of their own candidate, which could be worse than Trump’s.
Obama votes against ousting Saddam... then stands on floor of U.N. and says we need to get rid of dictators who killer their own. ?

I like Trump, I don’t like Bush. The analysis of Trump’s negatives has merit. A 60% negative is not good. Also it may be true that in a less crowded field Trump will fall behind.
I’d sure feel better if his positives were above 50%.
And I’m more than glad to vote for him.

If polls don’t matter why does Trump jump up and down about his all the time?
If that poll shows Trump leveling off, it also shows Carson leveling off or declining. So it’s worse news for his #1 challenger.
And while Fiorina is gaining, she’s not going to survive scrutiny. Meanwhile Bush “is a disaster”.
All in all, excellent news for the Donald.

Correct. The “for” part of polls at this stage is far less important than the “against” because people are split as to their favorite.
Hillary has negative rating in excess of 50%, which means she can’t get elected.
Trump’s negatives bode equally badly for him.
The most viable candidate at this time would be in at least the middle of the pack positive and less than 50% negative. Not sure who this is.
