My feeling is that it would be impossible to enforce.
Even if they managed a handful of "takedowns" people would notice.
It would soon become disastrous for the gungrabbers.

Exactly. If even 10% of the armed population of the USA decided to seriously resist (and by this I mean, shoot at people) gun confiscation, that's still something like 12-15 million people with around 30 million guns.

The attrition rate for the federal police, as well as any state and local that allowed themselves to be used this way, would be astronomical. Even if they decided to use the military - half of whom probably would rebel at it - it would make the attrition seen in the Middle East look like a Sunday picnic. We've clearly seen how all the fancy hi-tech toys in the world still don't save you from becoming either dead or a wheelchair bound cripple should you face a determined enemy who utilises guerrilla and 4th generation warfare techniques against you.

Last month, I was talking to a guy at my FIL's church, and this guy is really big on that Lindsey Williams guy - some pastor who says that "the elite" tell him all kinds of things in advance about what they're going to do (yeah right, hunh?). Anywise, this guy predicts widespread gun confiscation, so I was like, okay, how are they gonna do it?

He made the argument that, "Well, they'll just roll up in front of your house with a sonic weapon and while you're laying on the floor in the fetal position, they'll just walk in and take them."

Even should such a "sonic weapon" exist, I don't think this would work for very long. It won't take long for the rest of the neighbourhood to start shooting at the "sonic weapons" - and they guys running it.

Situations are not static. Even should FedGov manage to nab a few people using raids, etc., the people WILL adapt to it and find ways to counter it.

They could ban future ammo sales. But billions of rounds already in private hands will continue to exist.

“Then we’ll go door to door and confiscate your guns AND your ammo!!!”

Yeah, that’ll work.

The Democrats have chipped away at the Bill of Rights, little by little. Democrats pass almost all the laws that result in criminal trials and that increase incarcerations. While Democrats “Cry Out” that the Republicans are over controlling, the Democrats are the main reason why we have poverty, increased prison populations, more felons, and more crime.

Freedom of speech? Not unless you want to get sued or have the IRA Audit you
Right to assembly? Not unless you can pay for the public services to clean up afterwards
Freedom of the press? This one can get you in so much hot water today that it’s best not to publish anything unless it’s Pro-gay marriage, Pro-abortion, and Anti Christina
Freedom of Religion? Only if you’re a gay minister or a Muslim
Militia? Or, they are all nut cases says the Left (The same ones who claim to be liberals like the liberals of the revolution)
Right to bear arms? Only if you’re the police, then they condemn the police (After all the Democrat candidates run on increases police forces)
The real nutcases are the democrats who hate everything this country used to stand for, and they hate that constitution unless they find a loophole in it to exploit their cause

Gun owners are singular. You’d have to unite into groups to be able to defend our rights and the Constitution. I’m not sure how our military would obey attacking Americans. We’re not some Third World country where the military are just like police. I guess it would depend on how oath keepers they are.

Precisely what the enemy does — Redefinition. One emotional (silly ‘woman) locally wrote she is ashamed of hunters and responsible gun owners —in an irrational rant against the NRA. And the Second Amendment. My understanding is the fundamental right to keep and bear arms predates the first congress under our constitution. and that right of an armed citizenry is the only thing keeping America from suffering Tyranny. Joseph Story was spot on target in writing of the Palladium of our liberties. But the revisionists and sheep prepared for the slaughter would take that away —or try by their rewriting of laws.

The Supreme Court cannot repeal amendments. Do people know civics anymore?

We know civics. We also know how government abuses its powers.

SCOTUS can IGNORE laws which violate the Constitution and has been doing so for some time. Look at Article I, Section 8 and compare it to >80% of the Federals laws which have been enacted. Congress has no authority to pass ANY gun control legislation, but NFA 1933, GCA 1968 still stand. AWB 1994 sunset in 2004, or it would still be with us.

Considering what the sodomite union decision did to the free exercise clause of the first amendment, I’m not so sure the court wouldn’t wade into the second amendment.

The Second Amendment was written to prevent exactly that. It is all but extinct. The next step by the Bureaucracy will be to permanently extinguish even that small glimmer of hope, and it will be done with the threat of force so horrific that no man with a peashooter would consider opposing.

No lessons learned from our experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq, I see.

“Well, they’ll just roll up in front of your house with a sonic weapon...”

El Rushbo & others have disproven the existence of a so-called “crapcannon”.

But one thing is certain: if LEOs and/or military start going door to door, they had better kiss their loved ones goodbye every single day that they report for duty.

The problem with the boil the frog approach is it was necessary to complete prior stages before advancing onto the more advanced ones. If the Frog knows its being cooked and is prepared so as to avoid being cooked it survives no matter the heat applied. US has the same situation - too many Americans are aware of their game plan and have armed up the population greater then most of the world’s armies. Its indoctrination attempts are not working either but for already captured urban dwellers in some cities.

Simply put, US is like frog in a thermo suit with air conditioning on holding a machine gun waiting for the cook to try to burn it.

They won’t have to get them all. I think Matt’s explanation in Enemies Foreign & Domestic is what will happen. A large number will give them up without a fuss. Gov’t handouts for people that turn in neighbors, relatives, etc, for those that don’t.

Read the dissenting opinions in DC v. Heller to see exactly what the future looks like.

If Scalia, Kennedy, or Thomas gets replaced with a hard core leftist like Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayer or Kagan then they will reverse Heller along with every other 5/4 decision in which the conservatives have prevailed.

We have a slim chance of turning things around. Breyer and Ginsburg are both in their 80s. I expect one or both of them to retire after this Court term so that Obama can replace them with younger and even more radical versions. If they decide to stick around or if the Senate Republicans suddenly grow balls and filibuster any Obama replacements then President Cruz or Trump could then pack the Court with young conservatives.

It is a slim chance but it is the only one we have.

The Constitution says whatever the hell 5 out of 9 Supreme Court Justices currently want it to say.

On the one hand, I’m obliged to render unto Caesar.

Even if Caesar demands you worship him as a god? Professing Christians are held under the doctrine of the Higher Authority. Standing against the government "taking away" or "nullifying" an unalienable right seems fall under the auspices of the doctrine. Of course there are a myriad of things in modern America that the idea could apply to, which we choose to ignore. Maybe we truly are too far from Grace to expect protection?

The IT revolution is not friendly to tyrants. Word spreads too fast.

During WWII the Nazis shot anyone caught listening to BBC. That won’t work anymore.

Federal goons start going door to door. They are videoed by drones & it goes viral in seconds. Who needs Paul Revere to cry “To arms!!”?

The same sex marriage ruling was predicated on the 14th amendment...the equal protection clause...

I don't see a clear path on for them to strike down the 2nd based on any current law or ruling...

Of course they make up laws superseding Congress anyway, out of the clear blue sky. I guess they can take a crack at it...

The left won't stop trying...to cook up some complete unmitigated BS...

You give the lying anti-American vermin too much credit by assuming they have no idea. The chaos is what they long for since they hate this Nation as founded. With the blackmailable pirate Roberts on the court, they have the number they need to ruin the Constitution.
