Republican presidential contender Ben Carson turned to Facebook Wednesday night to address concerns from those who complain he doesn’t have enough political experience to be commander-in-chief.

“You are absolutely right — I have no political experience,” he bluntly acknowledged. “The current Members of Congress have a combined 8,700 years of political experience. Are we sure political experience is what we need?”

Carson wrote that “every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience” and argued that “today the political class stands in our way.”

Thanks to Rush Limbaugh. Does anyone really believe that the good doctor wrote any of this himself? I sure don’t.

What kind of jerky statement is that? Of course I expect that he wrote it himself.

Running on a platform as an inexperienced neophyte doesn’t seem like a winner to me. Would the good Doctor hire a surgeon because he didn’t have any experience, then why a president?

every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience

I thought every one of the was elected to be in the Continental Congress?

Many of them had other elected political experience.

I don’t care about his political experience. That’s a plus.
But he’s never managed an organization.
That’s where Trump shines. He’s a wildly successful businessman and administrator.

Trump has that experience. Carson doesn’t.

Whether or not Carson wrote it himself is not the point. The point is that all of us out here in the hinterlands have friggin’ had it with Washington and the “K” Street commandos. Out they go! Either peacefully or with extreme prejudice. It makes no difference.

The comment should not have been that he has no experience. The comment should have been that he is too nice and right now we don’t need ‘nice’.

So, then, all of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were unqualified?

A lot of those folks were experienced politicians. Many had previously held elected offices.

Untrue. Read the article. Read what Dr. Carson has managed.

It could be argued that B. Hussein also had no political experience either. But he still became the “Present” President after all.

Carson would make for a “nice” VP.

Eight years of having a creepy, stupid joke of a veep - we need a polar opposite.

No, it can’t be aruged that BHO had no political experience. He was a state Senator in IL, then elected to the US Senate before taking over the WH. (my choice of “taking over” is deliberate).

Political experience is not a plus being a Constitutional Conservative matters most.

Hardly. Despite you slander, they were for the most part quite experienced in the study of the philosophy of government and in local governance.
