I feel I need to break my silence on the Trump vs Cruz supporters
brain fart | 4/24/2016 | wastedyears

I feel I need to do this. This is tearing us apart like the state tearing a father away from his children during a divorce. I don't visit the DUmmies, Kos Crazies or the Huffingstuff Post because for one, they're insane, two, I like my sanity, and three, the websites are poorly designed, though that's mostly DU.

They're probably laughing hysterically at the civil war everybody is having, because this election did far more than they could ever hope to achieve. This is far worse than the 2008 and 2012 elections. We knew we were getting screwed either way, and held our noses to vote for the establishment candidates.

I was originally for Cruz when he first announced. He spoke intelligently, and I liked what he had to say. When Trump announced, I thought "what a novel idea, someone that has actually created jobs running for president. This should be interesting." At first, we thought Cruz and Trump would work together and maybe join each other later on as a president/vice president ticket. Then, as I guess is predictable, the mud flinging began.

Over time, information began to come out showing Cruz's history. It showed him as a regular politician with a shady past. Now most recently the allegations that Cruz has had multiple affairs.

Trump has had affairs while married, but he admitted to those. He didn't keep them secret.

I've noticed that our civil war has waned a bit, but that Mason - Dixon line we drew in the sand will probably not go away. Anybody on the other side of the aisle that pays attention to this site has been laughing themselves to tears. We need to stop throwing punches at each other and return to the civility we had before Cruz was the first to announce.

Trump is the source of all the corruption here.

He has played on our worst instincts and brought out the worst in his supporters.

It’s the way he’s lived his life.

Hey Wastedyears, why not answer some of the posts directed to you on the thread that you started. I most certainly would like to hear your responses now since you have awakened quite a few posters that have taken their valuable time to expose themselves before all to see.

At minimum, please let us know if you have adjusted your thinking and have decided on just which candidate offers the best chance of success against the “Clintons.”

I see you have also awakened “Altura” and for that I hold you responsible for lowering the importance of this thread.

Have a nice day and oh by the way, why not take the time to donate this quarter instead of freeloading on the backs of the other 135 donors that have been carrying your lame ass and that of the majority of the other posters on this thread.

Altura, that bit about kicking in a donation did not include you or your domestic partner, you did good!

I’d rather have Cruz, the CONSERVATIVE, which is what I thought this site was about.

The only reason Cruz is able to run is because he is being funded by the same people who funded Romney and Jeb Bush...Doesn't that throw up some red flags to you???

He has played on our worst instincts and brought out the worst in his supporters.

but of course comments like this have nothing to do with bringing out the worst in anybody...

The only candidate that sunk to that level was Rubio. Cruz has never done anything like Trump's antics.

You're right. Rubio went there because he was frustrated at Trump's unprofessional tone, and so responded in kind for a few days. That was a mistake. To his credit, I think he realized that, was embarrassed by his actions, and that's a big reason why he's been mostly invisible since exiting the race. And despite his battles with Cruz, he at least had the integrity to back him as the only remaining conservative alternative.

If Trump wasn't in this race, the tone would be completely different. To me, that makes it pretty clear where fault lies.

I agree completely.

Cruz’s entire career and history has proven that he is conservative. That is not the case with Trump.

This campaign season is unprecedented with the smears, mockery, insults and name calling directed at fellow candidates by Trump. Only Rubio engaged in similar actions which did not turn out well. Roger Stone is the ultimate sleaze merchant. His hand is apparent in the smears against Cruz.

A campaign run on nasty tweets and slander is disturbing. To have the name calling and smears repeated on this forum ad naseum is also disturbing.

Nicely stated. I do not understand why Cruz can be smeared with impunity and none of Trump’s inconsistencies and liberal statements can be mentioned.
