“I’m worried about Arya’s longterm situation”

Agreed.

Short term? Ramsey needs killing...

“Are they still planning two more seasons after this one? At the current pace, one more would more than suffice.”

Yes, they are definitely signed up for season 7, and plan to wrap up in season 8. But, they are talking about making those seasons even shorter (to string out this cash cow) - only 7 and 6 episodes each, so only 13 more episodes after this season. I anticipate more deaths will occur...

The TV show has a history of picking up the pace of the story (stories) toward the end of each season. Screenwriters use a technique called a beat sheet to template out the storyline. Typically in Game of Thrones, the second half of the season advances the various stories about twice as fast as the first half of the season.

The names of the remaining season 6 episodes have been leaked:
607: The Broken Man (the Hound?, Loris?, Benjin?, Sam?)
608: No one (Arya)
609: Battle of Bastards (Jon and Ramsey)
610: The Winds of Winter (The Night’s King?)

Interesting to learn the Mad King wasn’t so mad after all — merely misunderstood. ;)

Have followed Game of Thrones since day one but now believe it’s a little long in the tooth. I find myself losing interest and impatient for it to end.

“...making those seasons even shorter (to string out this cash cow) - only 7 and 6 episodes each...”

Hmmm...I heard just the opposite - that the next two seasons would be extended to ~13 episodes EACH...

Variety reports 7 episodes in season 7, and 6 in season 8: http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/game-of-thrones-end-date-season-8-1201752746/

So does International Business Times: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/game-thrones-season-8-will-be-end-hbo-show-fewer-episodes-expected-1555012

So does Newsweek: http://www.newsweek.com/game-thrones-may-end-after-season-8-have-shorter-final-seasons-448172

They showed the Mad King!!!! Holy bleep.

And Dany is a chip off the ole’ block if you ask me. I can see her excepting Mohammad, exuse me I mean the Lord of Light into her heart, marrying Euron like he wants, and becoming a bigger threat than the White Walkers.

Craster is still probably still the worst father on game of Thrones but Sam’s dad is definitely high on the list.

Horn Hill was friggin NICE.

I agree. In fact, I was hoping Sam would pull a Tyrion, and use that sword and run his father through.

I knew Randyll Tarly was a Huge A-Hole, but that was a perfectly awkward family dinner.

Kind of took me back to my family dinners as a kid.

Good times. Good times.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with this episode. Too much damn filler, not enough gratuitous nudity.
