Could you imagine having to face Darth Cersei after going against her? I may have jumped as well!

His father is the mad king, not Ned Stark. Ned Stark’s sister gave birth to Jon Snow after she was raped by the mad king.

His father is the mad king's son - Dany's brother -- so Jon Snow is really her nephew. In their kingdom, that is not a problem so he could end up as her husband after they conquer their enemies. And while the "official" story that Ned told was that his sister was kidnapped and raped, the fact that she made Ned promise to protect her son indicates that the kidnap and rape claim was a ruse.

Love that the speculation is that there are just three dragons and Dany rides one of them. Future riders are expected to be Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister, now the hand of Dany, Queen of the Dragons.

That is the most prevalent theory among the fan sites.

You all are forgetting an important bit of history. Why was Ned Stark killed?

But what throws me off is that Cersei was getting dressed up in her fancy coronation duds before King Tommen jumped. Why? Did she anticipate a coronation as Queen or is wearing the same clothes just coincidence?

Why was Ned Stark killed? >

because as hand of the king he had learned of cersie's plot to kill Robert and all of his bastards, and he made the mistake of revealing his hand to her when he was not in a position of power to do anything about it. she pretended to agree to allow him to be exiled to the Wall, but had joffry kill ned.

Why was Ned Stark killed?

Because Joffrey was a dick?

“Robert Baratheon was succeeded by two Lannister boys who were not related to him.”

Shsssh...! Don’t say that out loud. The peasants don’t know they weren’t Baratheons!

Have you noticed there are all women, (except at Winter Fell) on the thrones?

Walder Frey – dead – throat slit by Arya

I found that scene particularly satisfying, especially the fact that Arya got to deliver him not only the fate of the Rat King in feeding his sons to him but also avenged her family and revealed herself as she killed him.

King Aerys II Targaryen (the Mad King) was the father of:

-Prince Rhaegar (eldest son and heir to the Iron Throne)
-Prince Viserys (got a “gold crown” from Khal Drogo, Dany’s husband)
-Princess Daenerys (Dany on the TV show)

Prince Rhaegar married Princess Elia Martell of Dorne (sister of Prince Doran and Prince Oberyn of Dorne). Rhaegar and Elia had two children. Ser Gregor Clegane (The Mountain, a knight who is sworn to House Lannister) brutally killed Elia and her children during the Sack of King’s Landing. This is the source of the bad blood between Dorne and House Lannister.

Prince Rhaegar is also blamed for starting Robert’s Rebellion when he abducted Lyanna Stark. However, Rhaegar did not kidnap Lyanna. They fell in love, and she got pregnant. The problem was that Lyanna was already betrothed/promised to Robert Baratheon. Lyanna knew that Robert would kill her infant son (due to Robert’s jealousy or because the baby boy was in the direct line of succession to the throne, but probably both).

The only question is whether Rhaegar and Lyanna got married (polygamy was uncommon, but it did happen). If Rhaegar and Lyanna did not marry, then Jon’s claim to the throne could be seen as weaker than his aunt Daenerys’ claim, because she is the legitimate daughter of King Aerys. The claims of trueborn heirs usually take precedence over illegitimate heirs, although Jon would be the only surviving heir of Rhaegar, King Aerys II’s oldest son.

But legitimacy isn’t everything. The Game of Thrones is about who can take the Iron Throne and who can keep it.

Or they could do what GRRM started to do in the fourth book: Introduce a whole NEW set of characters and houses and alliances and enemies. Are started reading that part of the novel and thought, “Aren’t we trying to follow enough as it is?!”

Have you noticed there are all women, (except at Winter Fell) on the thrones?

Cersei on the Iron Throne
Dany the Conqueror coming for it.
Olenna Tyrell is the only one left of the Tyrell family
Yara Greyjoy wants to rule the Iron Islands
Women rule Dorne
The little Mormont girl shamed a bunch of lords
Arya is a fearful assassin.
Sansa is pulling some strings

It's almost as if this show has an agenda and is conditioning its audience to accept female leadership. Not sure why they'd be doing that NOW though.

And let’s not forget that Dany commands an army of Unsullied (eunuchs). Yara’s brother has also been castrated. And Varys (the Master of Whisperers / spymaster) was also castrated as a boy.

Everyone thought that the Maggy the Frog prophesy that said that she would be Queen and then the younger, more beautiful queen that replaces Cersei was Margaery. Now that has changed and it is going to be Daenerys Targaryen.
