Events in Game of Thrones don’t always happen the way people say they did. That’s what makes it interesting.

Varys seems to have access to Littlefinger’s jetpacks.

because as hand of the king he had learned of cersie's plot to kill Robert and all of his bastards, and he made the mistake of revealing his hand to her when he was not in a position of power

He was killed because he was investigating why Robert Aryn had died suddenly after he and Catelyn had received a Raven from her nutty sister Lysa Aryn saying that Robert Aryn had been killed by the Lannisters. He found a book that had all the births of the nobles listed in it; and, he found the Baratheon section in which ALL of the children of Baratheons were born with black hair and dark eyes. Cercei's children had neither.

He had discovered that the "rumors" of Cercei and Jamie's love affair were true. His real mistake was showing mercy to Cercei and her children, which gave her time to take out Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon.

"Robert and Lyanna appeared to have a political betrothal. It’s doubtful that they ever coupled before she ran off with Rhaegar. Targaryen children tend to look alike due to all of the inbreeding between brothers/sisters. Jon’s dark hair comes from his Stark heritage through his mother, Lyanna."

Sure wasn't political on Robert's Side being he called her name while humping Cersei and the first thing he did when he got to Winterfell was visit her tomb. And he is known to be voracious in his sexual appetites so... ya know.

And Apparently the Stark Dark Hair Gene is not that strong:

Notice anything?

Nah. Lyanna Stark had dark hair, too. Despite the Targaryens' attempts at maintaining pure blood lines, their genes could be hit-or-miss. Notice Jon Snow isn't invulnerable to fire either.

We know for sure that GRRM is. He’s pretty open about it. I would not be surprised if the writers/producers were, too.

Yep! How long did it take for all of those sails to get repainted with Targaryen colors? LOL!

If Lyanna had coupled with Robert and there was even the remotest possibility that baby Jon was Robert’s son, then it would make more sense for her to just say so. Ned, this is Robert’s son - look at his hair and please protect him! Robert wouldn’t have a reason to kill his own bastard.

“She isn’t in the Bloody Line of Succession!”

True, but I think everyone line of succession is dead. Joffrey, Tommen and Renly had no offspring, Robert had no legitimate offspring, Stannis only had Shireen and she’s dead too.

As for other Baratheon cousins, all the brothers of Robert are accounted for with no living heirs and we don’t ever hear that he had any sisters, so I think that line is dead except for bastards like Gendry.

Besides, Cersei is determined to be queen no matter what the line of succession says and she just killed everyone who would have objected about it in King’s Landing :)

Robert wouldn’t have a reason to kill his own bastard.

Particularly since he would go on to have 16 more bastards of his own!

How would she know that Robert's Dark Hair gene was so strong. and Her hair was Dark No one else knew until Years later. Her and Ned could've only couple once whereas Rhaegar could've many times she figures the odds are in favor of Rhaegar.

You forgot Kevan Lannister, he was in the Sept too. I think every single member of the old small council is dead now.

Also every pic of a Targaryen I can find shows Blond Hair. Seems that is a fairly strong trait in their line.

Robert Baratheon became king in part by right of conquest but also because he had the best claim to the throne (not counting Viserys and Daenerys), because his paternal grandmother was a Targaryen. That was how they justified it.

Cersei has no claim to the throne and Westerosi laws of succession (outside of Dorne) favor males over females. So, theoretically, Jamie would have a better claim to the throne than she does.

Cersei was married to the king and mother to two kings, but she doesn’t have a claim on her own. But now she’s killed off most of her opposition (or so she thinks), so there’s no one left to object.

Let’s assume that Targaryen silver hair is a recessive trait. And we know that they like to marry brothers/sisters. I think the real reason that they like to intermarry is to keep their bloodline pure. There is a theory that their ability to control/hatch dragons is related to their genes, and it’s probably a recessive gene, too.

No, Jon is Daenarys’ nephew. His father was the Mad King’s son Rhaegar, not the Mad King himself.

Although some of the Lannister kids could be the products of Aerys-rape, that’s still a possibility...
