which animal best represents the Libertarian Party?
original to FR | July 13, 2016 | Peter O'Donnell

The Republicans have their elephant and the Democrats are represented by a donkey, burro or ass.

By the way, in Cleveland, the logo for the RNC looks rather like an elephant about to deal harshly with an armadillo (I think it's half a guitar, presumably a nod to Cleveland's role as host of the Rock n'Roll Hall of Fame.)

But I was wondering, what animal best represents the Libertarian Party? Do they already have one? A soaring eagle? A large bull?

How about an ostrich? But an ostrich with a stash buried underground.

I did find in the internet that porcupine has been used some in the recent past. Defensive animal that does no harm unless threatened.

The Free State Project participants selected the porcupine, in a tribute to its 'let us alone' nature.

Need two reps.

The one you show is good for the old trads.

The neo liberts though, being as how they’re really all about legalizing child sex and drugs, need to use a drug addled, horny peacock.

How about none at all?

Animals don’t have politics. That is an exclusively human trait. It also keeps with the idea of being the “None of the Above Party”. Besides, we’ve really had enough fantasy posing as political discourse haven’t we? Anthropomorphic animals merely make things worse.

Failing that, i’d want to be represented by a Penguin. They mind their own business and scratch out a living under bad conditions and are always good for a laugh.

Linus Torvalds beat us to it though.
