Donald Trump has asked Republicans who control Congress to delay action on a 2017 budget until he gets into office. House Speaker Paul Ryan has apparently agreed, but Senate Republicans have other ideas.
Speaker Paul D. Ryan said on Thursday that the House would go along with the incoming administration's request and pass a stopgap spending bill that would keep the government running at current spending levels until March. The way the budget process has worked for the last eight years is that Obama told Congress exactly how much money he wanted, and Congress, afraid of Obama shutting down the government and blaming them, gave Obama 100%. This is the process that Blunt, Alexander, and perhaps even McConnell still want to continue, even with Trumps election as president. If they do this again, this will needlessly lock Obamas budget into Trumps first year as president. But Republican leaders in the Senate did not immediately sign on to the plan, reflecting their desire to get contentious spending battles out of the way this year. Too bad they were not voted out...swamp pigs. They can wait.
They do so at their own peril
If Ryan wants something it’s not good
Fight Obama’s budget lunacy now while he is a lame duck
Nothing to support click-bait headline.
Spending bills must originate in the House of Reprehensibles, and all bills must pass both houses of congress, so...
first opportunity: dump the r”S !!!

Budget bills originate in the House. Pass the bill and send it the Senate. If they do not pass it the US Senate will force the government to shut down by their inaction.
Call their bluff.
Spending bills originate in the House. The Senate has second say on the budget. So if Ryan says “wait”, we wait.
Suddenly the Republican members aren’t doing what RYNO wants them to do? Hmmm. Don’t trust RYNO! He lies and backstabs!
There is still a lot of RINO excrement in the swamp.
May they all fear for their careers.
As a start.
A contentious piece that has no impact. The budget will start in the House. As long as Ryan is in charge and keeps his word then the point is moot. I cannot see Ryan going against Trump and instigating something. Besides, how are they going to get a budget through the system by January and even if they ram something through (unpardonable sin) Trump could simply not spend the money.
I would think spending time cleaning up an appropriations bill that was "supposed" to have been passed in the previous year under Obama would be one of the first things the Trump Administration would want to do.
It’s their careers - they still think the People are too stupid to notice....
Good!
“If Ryan wants something its not good”
I agree, Ryan is positioning himself for something. Let’s see know he’s a BIG TIME Amnesty pimp. He makes Frank Underwood (House of Cards) look like a saint regarding back-stabbing. And he had himself positioned to be the nominee if Trump was stopped from winning the nomination.
His apparent support of Trump is VERY SUSPICIOUS, but it’s also very useful to Trump, at least in the short term.
IIRC, Trump has already said to pass a short term spending bill.
The Senate RINO elite needs to line it’s pockets as much as it can and needs to fulfill promises made to it’s donors before Trump takes the reigns.
Meh - hopefully this is just token resistance by some of the GOPe beta males - trying to appear that they are NOT betas and immediately rolling over for Trump.
My prediction: they’ll talk & talk (which is what they’re REALLY good at) - and then wait for Trump...
The difference between Obama’s spending bill and Trump’s budget will be about 900 billion dollars.
