I've been both. It just takes more training for officers. We salute the same flag, sweat the same sweat, and bleed the same blood. And some officer training is tougher than any "boot camp."

Dad used to do a lot of sailing in the Caribbean. There are PIRATES in those waters. He kept an empty M72 with him and would wave it around from time to time if he felt another boat was getting too close for comfort. ;)

With 80 years as a possibility I would think that the lady would be deemed a significant flight risk and should be in jail awaiting the payment of a very large bond.
I'm assuming that they're using the term "kettled" in a similar vein that the Germans used it during the Russian campaign ... Kesselschlacht ... as in "cauldron battle" .. where the enemy is completely encircled and forced to either face complete destruction or surrender.
It's a short leap from "cauldron" to "kettle", so, if you're the force inside the encirclement, you've been "kettled".
