“He kept an empty M72 with him and would wave it around from time to time if he felt another boat was getting too close for comfort.”

If you still own the M72, would love to go fishing with you for muskies at Lac Courte Oreilles. I’ll bring the beer and earplugs.

“Maybe the dumb bitch will get out of jail in 50 years - just in time to celebrate Barron Trump’s re-election as President... :-)”

Imagine how she must feel knowing that Chelsea Manning was a traitor to the country and is getting less time.

Shhhhh, Don’t tell HER that. Let her waste her $$$ while stressing out. the more she suffers now, the less likely she’ll do it again, not to mention she might not do any time in the end!

"The US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia failed to respond to Al Jazeera's requests for a comment."

I don't know why I think this is funny.

Al Jazeera interviewed me whilst I was at C-PAC. Y'all missed didn't ya?

Right after the interview I walked away and didn't know that one of their production assistants was walking the same way, when I said to my daughter who was with me:

"Who the heck watches Al Jazeera?"

Gee whiz. Life is just full of consequences. Sometimes you just can’t figure out “what happened” but generally we have an idea and often a great revelation of “what happened”.

The consequence of remaining ignorant about what happens when a person engages in sedition or theft or arson or any of those horrible antisocial destructive activities is jail time and I am really glad it is being imposed on those jerks. I bet they don’t even have to pay back to repair the destruction they caused. That should be part and parcel of their sentence.

When Olivia Alsip travelled to the capital to protest against the inauguration of right-wing US President Donald Trump, she didn't imagine she would end the day behind bars and later face up to 80 years in prison…The arrests came after Black Bloc anarchists and anti-fascists clashed with police.

Yes, who would ever have guessed that attacking police officers and violent rioting could result in years behind bars? No one could possibly have expected that…

I know the average leftist snowflake acts very, very entitled, but this is pushing brain-dead levels of absurdity. Of course, the left always takes the side of criminals over victims and has done so for decades, so perhaps she imagined her leftist defenders would somehow come to her rescue and prevent her prosecution. Delusional. And it’s even a bigger joke coming from the Al-Jazeera propagandists, considering how draconian criminal punishments are in most of the Muslim world.

Look on the bright side, she may be able to get her student loan payments deferred while she does her time.

Hopefully she won’t do any protesting for at least 10 years! Then the years of having to work to pay off the penalty. Sometimes our decisions cost us years and years. (and sometimes, some of us never learn)

I spent my 24th birthday in basic training...

Post of the thread.

On my 24th birthday, I was hard at work, hustling to feed my young wife and firstborn son. Those times were hard, but the heat and pressure of those days tempered the steel of my burgeoning manhood.

I went to Vietnam 1 month after my 18th birthday.

I thought for sure I was going to Vietnam after my 18th birthday. I had a low lottery number, and it was 1971, but I was never called.

My dad, who had done three tours in the Special Forces, told me (much) later, that it was winding down at the time.

At 24 I was having my first child. Running a business.

My wife was about to deliver our second child at that age, and was helping me to build our flegling business, which we still run to this day.

Kudos. I know how much work that was.

Sadly, the M72 is just a mere shell of herself these days, LOL!

And Muskies ‘tru de ice’ are SO MUCH MORE rewarding, IMHO. Contact me when we’ve got at LEAST 36 inches of ice on de lake, Ya! ;)

Destroying property, assaulting random people and refusing to disperse and desit is protected behavior? Who knew? Our institutions of higher learning would be a good place to start. No more rubber bullets and pepper spray, these idiots will only be deterred by lethal force it seems

When I was med-evaced in July 0f 68 the Marines were already being replaced by regular Army and ROK troops... unfortunately our government had probably already realized the war was lost in the American press...

“People were forced to urinate on the streets and denied water and food.”

On the bright side, being denied water minimizes the need to urinate on the streets!
