I can’t condone the behavior of Loomer, though I agree the play is reprehensible.

Look, it is a speech issue.

We had victories when Delta and BoA pulled funding. Amex is supposedly losing cardmembers because of wishy washiness on the issue.

I TOTALLY hated it when the left stopped the Milo speech by violence and physical interrupts. We should not imitate this activity.

Platforms of public discussion and opinion making ought to be free from interruption. Think of a minister of the Gospel preaching the truth of “Christ Alone” or, God forbid, “sin”— would we support people jumping on the platform and stopping his speech?

We don’t have to agree with bad/wicked/immoral speech to permit it being spoken. Stopping that bad speech can be done in a more permanent way—jumping up and down and behaving like the thugs did in Chicago at Trump’s rally is, in my opinion, a tactic that’ll backfire in the long run.

When Shrillary’s paid protestors stopped Trump’s campaign stop in the (I think it was) Chicago area, did that steel our resolve to support Trump, or did it deflate our spirits? Made me MORE determined to help him win. Why would this situation be any different?

(dons flame-proof suit)

I get what you’re saying but nothing has worked to keep these people from ramping up their rhetoric. What’s your solution? I truly believe there’s a correlation between this type of behavior like in this play, etc and the shooting last week. Maybe we should try to fight fire with fire? I believe we are seeing the beginnings of a civil war.

Yes, bending over and saying “please sir may I have another” has really worked well for Conservatives in the past /s

The left will keep pushing their agenda as long as they don’t meet any resistance. For the past 60 years conservatives have taken the high road while the left has undermined the foundation our nation was built on.

Conservative have worked within the system and we are now at the point where Republicans control Congress and President, only to discover that all those congressmen that claimed to be conservative, aren’t.

The protest is not to convince those that live in the coastal bubbles, they are to show other Americans that other think like they do.

The civil rights movement like to point to one woman who refused to give up her seat on a bus.

The homosexual rights movement began with a riot.

Perhaps returning to our conservative roots begin with one brave woman protesting a play. I don’t know, but I do know, turning the other cheek has only gotten conservatives slapped silly.

Not the same. A minister preaching in a church is not being given taxpayer funds to deliver his sermon. And the church is a private venue (even if the public is welcome to come in and listen).

OTOH the play in Central Park is in a public venue and is supported by taxpayer dollars.

Our Constitution protects "free speech" from being censored by the government (or gov't agencies, such as public school bureaucrats).

The Constitution doesn't protect a play –that incites violence against our duly-elected president– from being disrupted by protestors.

I'm sure you know this, but whenever the topic of "free speech" comes up, I think we should be careful to note that the 1st Amendment guards against government suppression of speech.

There is no free speech. Don’t be ridiculous. Imagine if the insane Hussein had been depicted in said play. When there is a double standard one must use all tools to fight the fire set by the left.

It’s an interesting quandary.

There’s some middle ground that I believe I would support.

When ‘Trump Caesar’ is killed on stage, stand up and say the pledge of allegiance.

When some Satanic rite is being practiced e.g. at the opening of the Gotthard tunnel - stand up and say the ‘Our Father’.

We don’t have to yell, but I think we do have to speak. And if our intervention might (at first) be confused for part of the show, then so much the better.

I agree with you; but it is a speech issue in the same sense that war, abortion and capital punishment is a right to life issue. Speech, like life, is sacrosanct in our society. We want to keep it that way but many leftists do not. Sometimes in a war and in a society, the exception enables the good.

Nope. Not bending over ever again. Fighting fire with fire is the only thing these communists understand. Being nice has gotten us absolutely nothing except ramped up violence from the left. No more. I. Am. Done.

The arseholes need massive pushback and if it hurts their delicate “sensibilities “, so be it.

And the media? They have zero clue what they have unleashed. Does anyone even watch an MSN channel for more than 10 seconds without wanting to puke? I’ve tuned them out

The play is art.

Just like 'Fearless Girl' is art.

Last week, when this Trump "art" assassination story broke, I suggested that pro-Trump protestors swarm the stage and "save" President Trump from the assassins.

Just embellishing "live art", dontchaknow? 😀

It's beginning to look like we might have to march on The Swamp and swarm the assassins there in real life, anyway...

Respectfully disagree with you (no need for flame suit, SoFlo)

Fight fire with fire. It’s the ONLY thing those assh*les understand.

They started it, they KEEP initiating it - because NO ONE has stood up to them - and they will not back off until they’re MADE to back off.

They’ve escalated this from nasty rhetoric to direct physical attacks on OUR people.

They did it, not us. The bastards SHOT one of ours the other day, and now we get a couple of them talking about “hunting” Republicans and another one of them thinking it’s “funny” and posting that crap.

So, no. It’s beyond mere Delta and BofA, etc.

I agree. While it’s nice to see some push-back, I think it’s in our best interests to just work among ourselves, work on primarying our current crop of RINOs and GOPe, keep to ourselves and VOTE as if America depends upon US...because She does. I never discuss politics with liberal friends of family members. Why bother? F-them, LOL!

The Leftists and their outrageous behavior BENEFITS Conservatives, IMHO, though it’s wrong to see people harmed, and when it gets physical arrests SHOULD be made; something we’re not seeing much of, yet. :(

I hate to think that ‘moderate’ Democrats can’t see this - BUT - as with ‘moderate’ Muslims, I don’t see anyone speaking out against this kind of behavior; just silent cheering from the sidelines. :(

*SHRUG*

“I TOTALLY hated it when the left stopped the Milo speech by violence and physical interrupts. We should not imitate this activity.”

But here is the point: in America today the radical Left CAN nod DOES stop conservative speech. They prevent it all over the country. Even the extreme political correctness we live under today - where people are afraid to point out suspicious activity out of fear of being thought of as racist - is a form of preventing free speech.

You bring up Christian speech...it is shut down in the public square constantly in America. Even putting crosses on public land is stopped by the Left.

Regardless, the Right is shut down and demonized by the Left endlessly...but did this act shut down Leftist speech, even in this venue? NO.

The Left - including their party, the Democrats - expects their speech to have the field unopposed - no countervailing viewpoint allowed. And the successfully impose that today in America. This is the Right taking a small step to stand up and say no to them fomenting and stoking violence - openly calling for violence against US in public. I say we need this kind of action to explode in member - let them know they do not make the rules, the public square is not theirs to do with as they wish. Let them know we WILL NOT be walked over.

I’ve heard that the play is being subsidized by our tax dollars via NEA, also local tax money. If so, then I totally condone the behavior of Loomer.

(Didn’t DJT cut off NEA funding? Maybe not, but I thought I heard that he did.)

I’m sorry to see the flame-proof suit was necessary.

I agree with you on all counts.

I don’t condone the behavior of Loomer, either, but I respect her guts in doing what she did and I hope she gets off without being charged.

The argument seems to be that we have 2 choices:
1. Use the same ugly tactics the left uses.
2. Roll over and take it.

I would like to think there are many more options. I would like to think that we are more creative than that and that among those many more options, we could find something far more effective than the left’s ugliness.

I don’t have specific ideas about this particular issue, but I have seen conservatives do some pretty creative things with billboards. I think if we invested a little time and effort into coming up with good responses we could send a message that was effective and classy. I think one of the very best tactics is to ridicule the left. Force them to look in the mirror, force them to face the paradoxes of their arguments, force them to face their hypocrisy, etc. Call them out for being immoral, violent, childish, stupid, .....
