The great Norman Podhoretz, in his masterful book, “Why Are Jews Liberals,” from whence this article is drawn, seems to conclude...that the Jews have only managed to exist through their adoption of “universalist” ideas—what I would call, Statist ideas—which supremely exist and shed their spoors mostly on the Left side of a leftist-stained table cloth.
We are talking civilly at table here, okay? No conspiracies of “Jew Lizard Masters From Space,” or the Rothschild Illuminati, or anything crazy, okay? We are just—for the moment—talking here.
Okay; here’s THE problem: even though pro-Jew and pro-Israel forces have moved to the right, the Jews have not.

Conservatives are always the “remnant.”
Many Orthodox Jews vote Republican. Russian Jews (ie Jews who came here from the Warsaw Pact to escape communism) vote Republican. Many Jews from North Africa and the Middle East vote Republican. A majority of American Jews are secular and descended from those, who came here from 1880-1920 and these vote Democrat.
It’s in their genes, because they were told by their parents, grandparents, etc, how much FDR did to “help us Jews.”
Of course, Roosevelt knew about the Holocaust, and did nothing to stop or even deter it.
