President Trump On Fire In NEW YORK TIMES Article!
IWB ^ | Pamela Williams

President Trump is not happy with Attorney General Jess Sessions. He told NEW YORK TIMES he would never have hired Sessions if he knew he would recuse himself from the Russia investigation. Also, Trump warned Special Counsel Mueller over his conflict of interest. President Trump is right on both fronts, and it is good to see him taking charge of those around him, who do not seem to know the truth from a hole in the ground.

The following is an excerpt from the NEW YORK TIMES article:

Trump slammed Sessions’ recusal as “very unfair to the president” and said he would have never appointed Sessions attorney general if he had known he would do so.

Sessions needs to resign immediately. He is not doing the job for which he was hired and has turned the justice dept over to a bunch of obama hacks. The justice dept is a complete joke at this point.

If the president is that unhappy with Sessions he can accept his resignation which is supposed to be on file for all cabinet officers in the Office of the Presidnt.

Sessions should offer to resign.

He recused himself from an IMAGINARY investigation... how stupid is that?

That left his idiot deputy to appoint Muller, which will hang over the administration forever, or until the money runs out - which it never will.

You have a point. But his approach seems better. Making it abundantly clear, his move to recuse was fatally flawed and force a public, direct, unequivocal resignation with an admission that he acted hastily. Sessions has done immeasurable harm to several important issues we were promised action on in the campaign.

After that statement, I’m thinking Sessions will be gone in time to be the main point of discussion on the Sunday shows.

He did much more during his conversations with the senators yesterday too. I love it where he says he is a civilian and been there for six months. He pretty much called them out as two faced liars with the comment they voted to repeal O care for six years during which time they were certain that BO would veto it. Now he has pen in hand and they cannot get it done (cue Caputo, Collins, and Murkowski-please take her Moose hunting Sarah-).

No, wait until he gets rid of DACA and DAPA which he will and he’ll take any heat for it gladly...After that I’m not sure what else he has to offer since he’s recused of Russia and Hillary

I don’t think so. Sessions was the first to stick his neck out and support Trump for President because of his stance on immigration. Trump rewards loyalty with loyalty. Sessions will depart at the end of the first Trump term...

Maybe Cruz would take over DOJ. It would give him a chance to be a hero. He might like that.

Trump knows if he fires him outright, he will be under more fire and will probably lose some support among the GOP senate base which he needs for SC appointments.

Recall those fake news stories a few weeks ago about how Trump demanded a loyalty statement from Comey and the FBI appointee? The left had Trump boxed in on the issue because if he demanded “loyalty” they would cite that as a reason to question any AG appointment if he fired Sessions.

Trump is making it very clear to Sessions, get out on your own dime. It is clear because he has no viable alternative such as removing his recusal. Sessions while a supporter of
the President’s message, mortally wounded himself with that one. Unfortunately, if he leaves, it will take half a year to replace him with that bunch in the Senate openly operating against him now.

Trump rewards loyalty with loyalty.

Trump is also an executive. He will not continue to reward Sessions if Sessions cannot perform the job for which he was hired to do. In the business world, sometimes you have to fire good, loyal people because they are incompetent. I'm sure Trump has had experience with this.

And he could also UN-recuse himself.

He could state that after Comey’s testimony he realizes that there is nothing there, and so he is shutting down any justice department expenditures for this effort.

I agree but if Sessions is himself loyal to the president he will resign so an affective AG can be appointed.

It was Sessions decision to recuse himself instead of leading the justice dept and the only way to correct this mistake is to gracefully step aside.

My take is that we are stuck w/ him for a awhile and here is why.

If he resigns or is fired it goes right to the Trump is Nixon argument adding fuel to a Russian investigation that had almost died out before the Don Jr. entrapment meeting was revealed.

The Trump admin cannot go after Hillary till after this Russia nonsense runs its course. This might have been part of the HRC strategy to create a diversion w/ Russia to delay her investigation and to make it look even more like a retaliation for the Russia probe. Going after a political enemy will never look good, so HRC fading away is best for everybody including Dems, but we know she won’t as she can’t help it.

If Sessions quits, you are looking at 6+ months of Rosenstein in charge as getting a new AG approved in this climate will be almost impossible. Plus we still got to get Wray approved for the FBI before an HRC investigation can get any traction. We know Comey was not going to do it.

Sessions should offer to resign.

Supposedly he offered to resign last month but the President refused to accept it. But now I don't see how he has any alternative. He needs to resign and go immediately.
