Well that didnt take long: the inevitable, unflattering comparison between our good Black Earth Mother Michelle and the evil white rich bitch Melania:Melania Trump is under fire for the outfit she wore in Michelle Obama's vegetable garden:
Trump's garden style is less accessible than Obama's clothes from J. Crew and Target. At $1,380 for a seemingly casual shirt, most people aren't likely to run out to copy Trump's style.
I for one was unaware that the main role of the FLOTUS was to present accessible clothes to the public.
MOs March, 2009 gardening debut get up
Now I dont know how much that sweater-wrap thingy over the wrinkly leggings cost, but(t) to be sure, the Jimmy Choos that Lady M sported for her gardening debut in 2009 cost considerably more than Melanias gardening debut Converse sneakers.
Jimmys current model motorcycle boots are running over $1000.
So you tell me which one of these women looks more accessible - although thats a trick question. Its the Secret Services job to ensure that neither POTUS nor FLOTUS are ever accessible. And thats a good thing.
For any number of reasons.
In summary: give me the $1300 Balmain shirt any day.
At least it looks like it belongs in a garden.

"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." looks like 2 apple butter bowls. who thought “shiny butt” was a good way to go?
Silly question: how do we know that shirt FLOTUS has on is the $1300 Balmain one & not one from say, QVC?
Sweater and motorcycle boots for gardening is wrong in so many ways. Words fail.
I love plaid shirts. These days it is hard to find them with the plaids lined up properly on the seams.
Sometimes Walmart will have one where the plaid accidentally lines up, but those are rare. I have paid anywhere from 50 cents at a thrift store to almost $300 @ Neimann Marcus for matched seam plaid shirts.
Oooo! OOO! It’s a cotton shirt! That’s rayciss!!
Yes, I was surprised at her stance. Looks like a manspread to me. Good thing she doesn’t ride the subway.
OMG, what is the name of that mythological animal that’s half man half beast? Those upper arms are all man, whereas those buttocks are all woman. I’ve wondered if she is not heterosexual at all?
I’ve been buying shirts that look like that for about fifteen years, at Walmart. Usually buy them on clearance for five bucks each.
As long as she’s not using government money to buy her clothes, I could not care less how much she spends on a flannel shirt.
Although I cannot fathom having enough money to be willing to spend over a grand on a flannel shirt.
For the record..neither Trump nor Melania are paid for their service to this country. What they spend on their clothes and food etc. is nobody’s business.....They’re both presenting themselves exactly as our President and first Lady should...and then some.
Jealousy abounds in the media.
I bet you money many of the clothes Melania’s wearing are ‘given’ to her to pick out by designers and brands etc. She’s an automatic fashion plate for their label. But I also believe she has a grand wardrobe all her own as well.
Good point......
Sometimes you have to kick start the tomatoes...
