Is It Colin Kaepenick's Revenge?

I didn't realize how bad the NFL's concussion problem was until many of its players developed kneeling sickness during the singing of the national anthem. . The kneelers claim they are protesting racism, but kneeling is usually done as a form of submission, not a form of protest. In the NFL, a player who fields a kickoff in the end zone will kneel to show he doesn't plan to run with the ball. Late in the game the quarterback on the team that is leading will "take a knee" to run out the clock. Kneeling is what a slave may do to show obedience to an owner.

The national anthem, "Star Spangled Banner", recalls the bravery of the men in one of our nation's most important battles. In the War of 1812 the men of Ft. McHenry held off the British navy in spite of a fierce naval bombardment. At dawn the flag was still waving. By protesting during the national anthem, the kneelers show contempt for those Americans who died in that battle including an escaped slave who had enlisted as a private in the U.S. army using the name William Williams. The kneelers also show contempt for 360,000 U.S. army soldiers who died fighting in the Civil War which ended slavery. 40,000 of those soldiers were black.

The kneelers alienate many of those fans who have friends and relatives serving in distant combat zones. Many fans have served in combat in the current conflict or lost friends or relatives in the 9/11 attack.

The kneelers have created a rift between players and fans that is costing the league revenue. I wonder if that was Colin Kaepenick's goal when he persuaded current players to become involved in this silly protest. Did he encourage the protests to get even with NFL teams for not signing him as a free agent?

If NFL players really want to do something about racism they should donate money to civil rights organizations, including political action committees that support civil rights oriented candidates Kneeling on the sidelines and whining like children in a store who want toys is unlikely to accomplish anything.

This all started because Jed York used the media to smear Colin Kaepernick, to distract from his own mistakes.

I haven’t seen it discussed anywhere, but I wonder if part of the NFL player’s attitudes toward the teams come from them belonging to the players union.

I find that union members often take the attitude that their wages and benefits are a result of belonging to the union, hence their loyalties are to the union and not the company or the customers.

NFL didn’t think so much of kneeling when Tim Tebow was doing it.

In this case, I don’t think the union have done much of anything. If you look at how this is played out so far...by spring of next year, a decision will have to be made by owners on contract offers and I think the pace of upward offerings will stall. Players who had a decent 2017 season will expect an upgrade, and they won’t get it.

The union will be approached and players will demand a strike to show solidarity. I think the union will sit there and shake their head because stupidity got them this deep into the swamp and confidence with the NFL is hurt bad. They might avoid a strike for 2018, but if this continues on...you can definitely expect a strike by 2019 over stagnant contract offers.

I really think the NFL players got duped into doing something stupid by the leftist media and its allies. The players are out so far over their head. When Trump saw this soft target in the culture war he couldn’t help but strike. If the players continue to kneel, they look like idiots and drive fans away. If they stand, they get egg on their face. It’s a no win scenario for them and Trump boxed them in brilliantly. ...and by extension he boxed in the liberal media, BLM, and ESPN. Trump is a different kind of dude, but he can be very cleaver at times. These players will be standing for the National Anthem before too long. They have no choice and Trump knows it.

I wonder what Krapperdik's Muzzie girl thinks of all of his Jesus tattoos? He was so proud of them up until about a year ago. Remember how he would flex and kiss his tats?

Some guys just get stupid over p*ssy. But I think he had a head start before she even showed up.

Trump vs the NFL players and owner = no contest/slam dunk for Trump.

At this point you would think folks might have learned to never under-estimate Trump. He is obviously in touch with “middle America”, the “silent majority”, whatever you want to call us.

But, learning is hard when you are a _really_ stupid “progressive”.
