THE FAR RIGHT WON'T ACCEPT LAS VEGAS KILLER WAS A CHRISTIAN WHITE MALE
Newsweak ^ | Oct. 4, 2017 | ALEXANDER NAZARYAN

Posted on 10/06/2017 11:51:32 AM PDT by PROCON

The killer was a white guy, a Christian by birth if not belief. He was not radical, just a crazed man given the means by the gun lobby to terrorize innocent concertgoers in Las Vegas on Sunday night, shooting to death 59 of them. Stephen C. Paddock was, by all accounts so far, an ordinary American. That is what most terrifies the right.

And so, some on the far right have convinced themselves that Paddock could not be what he seems, what the authorities say he is. They say facts—alternative facts, perhaps—will inevitably reveal the truth, even as mainstream media outlets do everything they can to skewer that reality, so as not to offend the sensibilities of coastal elites.

This is how America grieves and mourns in 2017.

The lack of certitude about Paddock was conveyed by President Donald J. Trump himself, who on Tuesday was asked if the 64-year-old killer could have been a member or supporter of the Islamic State group (ISIS). There is no evidence whatsoever that that was the case, and although ISIS did attempt to take responsibility for the attack, this was almost certainly what Politico called “the terrorist organization's desire for publicity.”

The FBI has said ISIS is not responsible for the attack. Senator Richard M. Burr, who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee, similarly asserted that "it doesn't seem to have a terrorism nexus."

And if some international organization were directing Paddock, Trump would have surely known as much from the President’s Daily Briefing, which would have given him a clear overview of terrorist activity around the world.

I have not seen any evidence AT ALL the this fiend was a Christian. None. This b.s. is 100% narrative.

He was an active registered Democrat in Florida. He started his gun buying spree during the election in 2016.

I have seen that the name "Stephen Paddock" was registered as voting in Florida. Do we know that this is the same Stephen Paddock that was the Las Vegas gunman?

Although don’t overlook the fact that if he were indicted for being a Christian and prosecuted in court, the prosecutor would have no evidence.

This isn’t the point, but the Newsweek article asserted Paddock was “a Christian by birth, if not by belief.” In the Jewish faith, a baby born to a Jewish woman is Jewish — period, even if that person grows up without any exposure to Judaism. However, it doesn’t work that way with Christianity. This Newsweek reporter evidently believes that anyone who is not born Jewish (or Muslim), is Christian be default. But if Paddock was never baptized — he may have been, but who knows? — and has had no affiliation with a Christian church of any type, then he is not “Christian”.

Becoming followers of Christ is not genetic nor carried in one’s DNA but by personal decisions to turn one’s life around and proclaim salvation..

Important point that a non-Christian would not comprehend, thanks!

.... there is zero indication Paddock was Christian. In fact, I’ve heard him described as atheist.

Well, yeah. But, he was a Christian atheist.

There is no way this fiendish act could be done and considered a Christian action.

It could, by some however, be considered an Islamist action.

There are many educated Jews who do understand this. However, they aren't “journalists”.

>>> "a Christian by birth if not belief."

There is no such thing. Being born into a Christian family doesn't make you a Christian just like being born into a military family doesn't make you a soldier.

A Christian is someone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ and who is sealed by the Holy Spirit. It's not a label or piece of jewelry you can purchase and wear. And there is ZERO chance ANY Christian, with the presence of the Holy Spirit of God, would ever do this.

a Christian by birth if not belief.

Funny how that's applicable here but not when it comes to gender.

More likely is that most of victims were actually Christian but they are to be swept under the rug for that reason.

Based on the evidence available, I can go along with "male" and "Caucasian" ... but making a statement like "a Christian by birth if not belief" is just plain shoddy reporting by someone who clearly does not have a clue what a Christian is.

No one is Christian by birth. To say that is to entirely misunderstand Christianity.

ISIS Claims responsibility; the left won’t accept it.

The right/NRA doesn’t claim responsibility; the left won’t accept it.

Ar this point, this guys blabbering is about as useful as any other conspiracy theory.

a Christian by birth if not belief.

You can drop your birth gender but not your birth religion, in liberal la-la land.
