Jeff Sessions Just Ran Out of Cover in the Andrew McCabe Case
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

The Evening Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Well, now we know why Andrew McCabe needed that half million dollar legal defense fund. The fired ex-Deputy Director of the FBI is really on a roll when it comes to having criminal referrals filed against him: Yesterday, he gets one from 11 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and today he gets one lobbed out in his direction by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

Bang! Boom! Pow! It’s like he’s playing a bad guy in an episode of the 1960s TV version of Batman.

The IG’s referral is of course a follow-up to the release of his report last Friday which summarized the findings from his investigation into McCabe’s conduct, which showed that the deep state FBI guy had a serial “lack of candor,” i.e., he’s an habitual liar.

In truth, as I detailed in this morning’s Campaign Update, the referral from 11 Republican congresspersons carries little weight, and really covers ground Attorney General Jeff Sessions has already claimed to be covering. But the referral from the IG is more crucial here, because it now leaves Sessions completely exposed, lacking any further excuse for delaying moving forward with prosecuting the guy who was one of the ring leaders of the anti-Trump deep state cabal that operated within the FBI and DOJ throughout 2016 and well into 2017.

Sessions has said all along that he has just been awaiting the IG’s report before determining whether prosecutions of anyone are really warranted in these matters. Now, the IG has not just issued a report specific to one of the bad actors, he has quickly followed up with a criminal referral. While that referral is directed to the U.S. Attorney who oversees the Washington, D.C. office for DOJ, that U.S. Attorney works for Jeff Sessions, and his actions are Sessions’ responsibility.

A referral from the IG does not necessarily mean that charges will be brought in the case – that decision falls to the DOJ and a grand jury. But the IG has already presented an airtight case in a very public way, so if Sessions and his U.S. attorney fail to bring charges, they’ll need a very strong explanation why General Mike Flynn, a legitimate American hero who has spent his entire adult life defending this country, gets perp walked and indicted in a massive rush to judgment, but a deep state skunk like McCabe gets a walk after a painstaking investigation that dragged on for many months.

The other thing the IG’s action today accomplishes is to give us a preview of what to expect in May, when he will issue his findings from his more comprehensive, 15-month investigation into the massive wrongdoings by a variety of FBI and DOJ officials, as well as Hillary Clinton. It should be fairly safe to assume the general process will be the same – first, the report, then a series of criminal referrals to DOJ.

And then the buck stops again right smack in the middle of Jeff Sessions’ desk. Personally, I think that’s exactly where Sessions wants it. But if I’m wrong in the assumption of Sessions’ good faith, he’s about to run out of anywhere else to pass that buck.

That is all.

It is a combination of DU trolls, Never-Trumpers and folks who are so disappointed with the GOPe, that they refuse to get their hopes up, anymore.

I’m so tired of the knee jerk anti Sessions trolls ruining every conversation.

Well, myself, most Freepers, and The President, are sick to death of Jeff Sessions refusing to be the AG, and refusing to resign.

I'm sorry that you and some others can't see what a complete disaster this guy is.

Sessions will defer to Rosenstein, who will quickly file the referral in the trash bin.

Sessions has praised Rosenstein too loudly and for exactly the wrong reasons. One of Sessions’ Rosenstein praise-fests knee-capped Trump’s efforts to tarnish RR for signing the illegal FISA warrant.

Sessions has publicly chosen a side: Rosenstein’s over Trump’s.

Joe diGenova on Hannity: “Comey is dirty, Rosentein is compromised. Jeff Sessions has a duty to fire Rosenstein NOW... It’s HIS job, not Trump’s”

.
There’s only one way to deal with this situation.

I prdict that Gen. Flynn will be aboard a plane that loses a couple of engines soon.

Then those few GOP congress critters that have insisted on seeing unredacted Comey and McCabe docs will be developing medical issues that require hospitalization, and you know how those infections crop up...

He ran out of cover the day after he was confirmed.

I’m not sure Sessions is smart. I think he knows how to wet his finger and hold it up to see which way the wind is blowing. I don’t think that is smart so much as it is political instinct bordering on how a large number of cowardly US Senators learn to act at the back and call of their financial masters.

Not many who think Sessions is lacking ability are thinking that the current crop of bad actors should be hung without substantial evidence or proof.

There’s a whole DOJ to make sure the job is done right. But getting the job done right was not a priority during the Obama years. Rather, getting the job done according to political ideology was the directive.

The problem is Sessions took that job when he should have politely bowed out. Why he thought to take a job where he would recuse his involvement and stand aside while Obama holdovers would cause relentless mischief, make baseless allegations, push for unwarranted indictments and harassment of persons around the President including members of his family, is beyond reason. Sessions is a fool, a coward, or both. At best, Sessions WAS a fool, a coward, or both, but we pray he has come around to become more astute.

Sessions actually oversaw some good and quick developments during the first weeks of the new administration. Not all was bad. But the RECUSAL is what has plagued the Trump Administration to no end. Without that recusal, there would be no Mueller ad there would be no harassment of the President, his family, his friends, and associates, no WITCH HUNT.

That said, once he got in, his state elected a democrat to replace him, putting the Senate at risk to be headed by the likes of an idiot leftist named Schumer.

The President can’t fire Sessions because the Senate will not confirm at this stage a more worthy Attorney General and the current Deputy AG is implicated as a covert agent of treasonous democrats.

If the President had a real prosecutor like a young Rudy Guliani as AG, the democrats who have conspired against this President would be in a lot more trouble and there would be no witch hunt.

We will see if Sessions can overcome what he has created. We will see if he can get the President and his Administration free from baseless prosecutions.

Just today we hear that Rudy has agreed to help the President bring Mueller to the table. Think about that. Why can’t Sessions do that? Answer: because he RECUSED himself! So the President has to go searching for a capable agent like Rudy to close Mueller down. What a waste of time and resources, and all of it attributable to Sessions.

Sessions vote on approving the Iran deal is in and of itself a fatal mark on Sessions.

The cheering of the corrupt prosecutors on the Bundy case merely showed Sessions is clueless, and he is.

As the President labeled him, and it is a generous label, Sessions is ‘Mr. MAGOO’.

There were a lot of folks that voted wrongly on the Iran deal. I don't know what they were thinking, or what they thought they were going to secure. Sessions wasn't the only one.

Sessions was clueless on the Bundy case. But so is all of Congress, a bunch of federal agencies, and even most Americans do not understand the issues. So take your pick. Walk up to 10 strangers today and ask them for their opinion.

DJT's labeling of Sessions is the low-point of his presidency so far. Childish. He is the one that appointed Sessions. So what does that say about DJT's talent evaluation?

Sessions is going to have a fvckload of people eating crow when he systematically takes the left down, on his time table. There will come a day when DJT apologies for his words on Sessions. Believe it.
