North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly ordered a high ranking army officer to be executed after he was accused of giving extra food and fuel rations to troops and their families.
Daily NK reported that Hyon Ju Song, the lieutenant general of the Korean Peoples Army in the countrys capital, Pyongyang, was executed by a firing squad for charges of abusing authority and engaging in anti-Party acts.
Hyon was reportedly a rising star in the army before his death. He served as a member of the Workers' Party of Korea's Central Committee and battalion commander under the Supreme Guard Command.
While checking the oil supplies for the Sohae Satellite Launching Station during the comprehensive inspections of wartime supplies on April 10, Hyon stated, We no longer have to suffer and tighten our belts to make rockets or nuclear weapons. This was seen as an abuse of authority and a treasonous statement that opposed the Partys military-first policy, a source told Daily NK.
The source said Hyon ordered 2,000 pounds of fuel, 1,300 pounds of rice, and 1,600 pounds of corn to military officers at the Launching Station and their families.(continued)

The story behind the story. The formal accusation doesn’t match the actual charged faux pas. Kim continues to want to run this show — something that Trump is very wise to keep in mind less NK crank out horror stories that undermine him. Trump might be able to lean on Kim with a “will you let me help you help me — this looks bad for me.”
The executions will continue until morale improves.
No, not a good color and the folks in the office that came up with that name probably counted several grays as blue.
We posted pictures in the office of our sales and they were all blueish.
Norks will be Norks
“Hyon was reportedly a rising star in the army before his death.”
Because it’s pretty much impossible to rise any further after he’s dead.
An earlier article said he’d leaked some information.
He wasn’t celebrated for transexual fantasies and pardoned.
That is one of the saddest stories—ever.
Lordy, what they did to that poor young man.
.
He was executed because he was a “rising star” and his men and their families loved him. This was threat to the regime.
For obviously different actual high crimes and genuine treason.
Wait a minute! Could this be a Nork of a different color?
What is your solution?
I think Otto Warmbier’s outcome was an event that was quite substantiated and along with the millions of starving babies, proves that Kim Jong Un is an abomination on the level of Pol Pot.
While Trump deserves immense credit for bringing the Norks to the table and calming the waters, there is absolutely no way NK will truly normalize unless the pot-bellied pig and his hideous police state stands completely down, and that will simply never happen. Six more years of Trump is a cakewalk to the commie mind, and they will slowroll, stall, and make worthless symbolic gestures as they run out the clock.
“Hyon was reportedly a rising star in the army...”
My guess is Kim viewed him as a threat and wanted to get rid of him.
Spot on.
Americans have four year plans.
Commies and Muslims have thousand year plans.
They can wait it out.
Nobody said the pot bellied dictator was anything good.
We made peace with the Emperor of Japan and can do it here. It might take a different path, but I trust Trump to navigate it, not those who live in the past.
Compare the cost of 10 shiploads of food to the cost of rebuilding and decontaminating Los Angeles, burying a million bodies and housing all those refugees, plus medical care for all the survivors. Welcome to Free Republic.
All extra food are belong to Phat-boi.
Since when does a lieutenant general command a mere battalion?
