Michael Bloomberg, who’s willing to spend $2 billion to beat President Donald Trump and spent more than $350 million plastering airwaves with his ads, is now paying people to plaster your Instagram accounts with terrible memes. The New York Times reported Feb. 13 that the liberal billionaire presidential candidate “has contracted some of the biggest meme-makers on the internet to post sponsored content on Instagram promoting his presidential campaign.” [Emphasis added]. The campaign is collaborating with Meme 2020, “a new company formed by some of the people behind extremely influential [Instagram] accounts.”

I think the ban is on soft drinks larger than 20 ounces. . . Control freak. Someone needs to make a two pane meme of a Big Gulp, and a legal Bloomberg Mini-Sippy Cup. . .

Meme caption for the top would be “Your Freedom’s Choice”, on the bottom would be “Bloomberg’s Choice for You”.

Just a bio that mentioned Bloomberg being laid off at age 39, and building Bloomberg LP from nothing to where it is today - a 20,000-employee organization.

That resume would be more helpful if Bloomberg's customers didn't feel that his company gouged them for every dollar it could. I have never met anybody who was a Bloomberg customer who didn't complain constantly about them.

But they skip the cheaper alternatives because they aren’t really alternatives. There’s a reason why Bloomberg displaced Reuters as a provider of financial data despite Reuters’s 100-year-plus head start. The cost difference is nugatory compared to the amounts being bought and sold by institutional customers in the capital markets.

Sure, but how does a business built on squeezing hedge fund managers until they hate your business resonate with the typical Democrat voter?

I can think of some great slogans for Bloomberg:

Getting rich off the 1% by making them pay more for the financial data they use to exploit the masses.

How do you think the 1% get so rich? By using their Bloomberg terminal.

You can thank me for supporting the traders who caused your employer to lay you off so that they could do a stock buy back.

Bloomberg was certainly successful in business, but I don't see his brand as something that resonates with ordinary voters. And among his customers he isn't that popular either.

Bloomberg is that Bond villain played by the annoying Infiniti guy. He is a media mogul who is testing the limits of media influence. Unfortunately, he is 3 years too late. President Trump has already proven how impotent the media is when faced with reality and success.
