Ron DeSantis: The 2024 Frontrunner (If Trump Doesn't Run?)
National Interest ^ | 3/2/2021 | Rachel Bucchino

Posted on 03/03/2021 6:14:06 AM PST by Onthebrink

A new survey from Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy revealed that DeSantis garnered an approval rating of 53 percent among Florida voters and a disapproval rating of 42 percent.

An approval rating above 50 percent offers a strong foundation for a candidate heading into reelection, as DeSantis is on track to ramp up his candidacy for the 2022 elections in a bold position. The same poll released in July found his approval ratings in a rougher spot, with 45 percent approving and 49 percent disapproving.

When compared to hypothetical competition for an upcoming election, DeSantis carries noteworthy margins over two potential Democratic contenders—state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried and Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.). The first-term GOP governor holds a 9 percent lead over Fried and an eleven percent advantage over Crist, according to the poll.

Anybody that starts talking about 2024 before the 2022 elections will automatically be disqualified as far as I am concerned.

She might be good as VP.

Not sure she has the experience this guy in a very populous state has.

I don’t think it will, and I feel pretty strongly about that. Iwas saying back in 2018 that I think 2020 will be our last “real” election, and even that one may be a farce.

And here we are...

I think Trump will go down in history as the last “real” president of the US. That’s assuming we still have the technology to print history books on- or off-line.

Whoever runs in 2024 will need to raise somewhere north of a billion dollars. If they don’t start now, they won’t make the bar. Much as I’m disgusted by this, it’s the new normal.

Who was the frontrunner in 2013? Just curious.

Anybody who talks about elections period after the last one is a joke. Free elections are over. Welcome to the USSA. Socialism or worse.

I'm on the fence. I really don't know much about DeSantis' national or global views, just local (he's my guv).

Also, I know of no one currently who could replace him as governor here. Right now, I like him here...

I agree. God bless President Trump, but no one can disagree that sometimes he spoke when remaining silence would have been preferable. Sometimes he said more, when less should have been said. This guy takes it right to the press, without the rough edges. He does need to deliver lots of speeches to polish that skill. Noem’s experience indicates VP is the right spot for her. Plus she’s hot.

Is DeSantis hard core MAGA, or is he a career politician like Mike Pence? He seems to be OK, but many politicians walk up close to the MAGA line, but never cross it. They try to have it both ways. On the other hand Mike Pompeo appears to be legitimately MAGA. He had President Trump's back when Mike Pence was sucking his thumb, and hiding under the desk.

There is nothing wrong with DeSantis mind you. He is a solid conservative, but is he truly MAGA?

Yes. Because Biden, Harris, Pelosi, etc. will eventually get around to fixing the voter fraud problem. So we certainly should have fair elections by 2024.

I kid, of course. If you like one-party rule now, you’ll love it in 2024.

I disagree with you. I think money in politics will become less important every cycle. Never forget that HRC vastly outspent Trump in 2016, and we all know that Biden stole 2020.

FWIW...

I heard Richard Baris a bit yesterday in his podcast opining on the Trump speech this weekend.

His gut feel? He didn't say he wouldn't but he didn't feel it like he did in 2015' when he spoke at CPAC and Baris was one of the 1st to get he is running. That's a gut feel thing from the best.

My man Kuhner out of Boston noted he will be 78 but a young one if you will and will one of his kids say no-mas the risk is too much. He also mentioned they will do anything to stop him if he tries again....

At this point the MAGA movement will go on, but I don't think the Boss is on the ticket.

However with all the States going Maskless, I wouldn't be surprised if the Boss shows up in these States, every two weeks a Trump Rallye, to purge the RP of all Rino's/American Last grifters...

I only care if the man is hot.

Someone commented that DeSantis might be Trump without the tweets.

I really can’t imagine how hellish it must’ve been to be Trump’s “spokesman”. He was always loose cannon before the alleged SM knew anything about it!

“Will the U.S. as we know it still exist in 2024?”

The USA as we knew it just last November is already dead and gone. And the GOPee voted to put their stamp of approval on its death last January. GOPee Delenda Est!
