Harris, Haley, and Ramaswamy Cannot Be President
The Post Email ^ | August 29, 2023 | Don Frederick

Kamala Harris, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy are not eligible to serve as president of the United States. Nor are Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Why? They are not “natural born citizens,” which is one of the presidential requirements outlined in the U.S. Constitution. Making that claim, of course, immediately prompts a response of, “Of course they are natural born citizens! What are you, a racist?” But those who are eager to ridicule and condemn such a statement of ineligibility are merely demonstrating their ignorance of the term natural born citizen. What is important, however, is not what television pundits (or “pundints,” as they often incorrectly refer to themselves) believe the term means, but what the Founding Fathers understood the term to mean when they decreed the following:

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

Probably close to 100 percent of Americans alive today believe the term natural born citizen simply means born in the United States of America. But that is not what the term meant to the authors of the U.S. Constitution.

One hand washes the other. He was one of them and they are corrupt and perhaps vulnerable to blackmail.

People who have children here but are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States are foreigners on diplomatic missions, not illegal immigrants.

If their governments can demand they return, then they are still subject to foreign jurisdiction.

If you didn’t have to be naturalized to be a citizen, then that makes you natural born .

The 14th amendment is a blanket naturalization.

A few weeks back I was actually reading the debates on the 14th amendment, and the congressmen discussing it were themselves calling it "naturalization."

Well what *DO* you call it when you pass a law granting citizenship to something like 3 million black people all at once? Isn't it "naturalization"?

LOL

Karen DeSantis grew up in Poland, OH not the country of Poland. As Emily Litella would say....never mind. Ron is natural born by any definition.

“Harris, Haley, and Ramaswamy Cannot Be President”

YES THEY CAN!

Because Obama WAS president, even though he did not meet the requirements of natural born citizen status.

It was never proven that Obama was even a citizen of the United States (I don’t believe that he was).

ANOTHER reason why this country is FINISHED!

Stick a fork in her.

NO MATTER, he WAS president for EIGHT YEARS.

NOW, anyone can be president!

They were adding up slaves who had no voice and using it to hold more seats in Congress to fight to PRESERVE slavery.

Stop. You are showing off your brainwashing. There was no danger or threat to slavery in 1787. The vast majority of the states were slave states at that time.

No one was worrying about "preserving slavery", they just wanted more power and more representation in the government. It's just that simple.

Those who wanted to abolish slavery felt that if a person could not vote (i.e. a slave), then that person should not be "counted" towards the total population of the state.

No, they just wanted more power for themselves. States with few slaves would have lesser representation than they would otherwise have, and they didn't like that.

The 3/5 compromise was not meant to say that any human being was worth less than another. I

This is correct.

The amendment says “all persons born or naturalized”. It was not a blanket naturalization. It was a blanket statement that the former slaves, having been “born”, were American citizens.

Chester Arthur (R) (1881) became Vice-President with an alien father.

Don't be deceptive. *NOBODY* knew that at the time. He did everything he could to cover it up, and it was only discovered back in 2009 or so that Chester Arthur's father was an alien.

Kamala Harris (D) (2021) became Vice-President with two alien parents.

Because Barack Obama got away with it and the courts wouldn't touch the evidence.

Barack Obama (D) (2009) became President with an alien father.

Because he was black, the courts would not touch the evidence.

Just more evidence that our courts are run by combinations of incompetence, cowardice, and corruption.

And here is something for your amusement.

Is Mr Charles Evans Hughes a "Natural Born Citizen" within the meaning of the US Constitution?

This guy speaks lawyer babble too.

Two sources of information that should clarify the issue.

Yes, we should just listen to what the government says. They wouldn't lie to us, would they?

Debating their eligibility to be POTUS is akin to arguing the moon landing was faked which recently happened here on FR.

Distinctly different, because the moon landing is true, and modern court opinion of "natural born citizen" is fake.

Modern courts do not know what the hell they are talking about. They have power, but not knowledge or wisdom.

This has been debated and your position has been found to be incorrect.

"Declared" to be incorrect. "Asserted" to be incorrect.

In order to find something, you have to be looking for it, and no modern court has even bothered to look for it.

They are just expressing their own brainwashing on the topic, and nothing else.

The fact that this comes up when black or brown people are running makes it even more suspect. No one was talking about this when Dukakis ran.

Stop. It came up with Mitt Romney's father running in the 1960s, (He was born in Mexico) it came up with Barry Goldwater running in 1964, and it even came up with John McCain in 2012. It came up with Charles Evans Hughes in the early 1900s, the link to which I posted earlier in the thread.

You should apologize for your false insinuation.

And what about Dukakis? I don't recall the topic ever being brought up regarding him.

Anyway, there are plenty of reasons why none of these people will be President. Except Harris. I think there is a good chance she becomes President.

Here I think you may be right. I don't see Biden lasting till 2024.

Maybe we will hit 200 replies?

A recent thread on this subject hit over 400 replies.

I'll do my part! :)

Stop. You are showing off your brainwashing

Stop. You have to jump right to an accusation that I've been brainwashed? How about "wrong"? Brainwashing implies that a person is incapable of changing their opinion on something when presented with opposing facts and opinions.

I concede on every point you made following that. But I find the accusation of being brainwashed to be disrespectful especially when I admitted at the outset that I might be way off. A person who is brainwashed doesn't say they may be "way off" about whatever their cause may be. I was practically inviting you to provide better info on the subject.

Thanks for the input.

I can't find anywhere, where the Founding Fathers voted on the definition.

Can you find where they voted on the definition of "horse", or "arms"?

I'm thinking they didn't vote on very many definitions, they just accepted the commonly understood meanings for the time period.

"Citizen" is a Swiss word. The correct English word was "Subject", but they deliberately tossed that one aside.

Vattel seems to be a Prussian, who never visited the United States.

He is Swiss.

Now let me ask you something. Are you aware that in 1776 every country in the world was a monarchy except Switzerland, which was the only Republic in the World?

Did you know Vattel put the idea of a collection of states forming an independent Republic into the founder's heads? He literally thought up the idea.

From Vattel's "Law of Nations", published in 1758.

Finally, several sovereign and independent states may unite themselves together by a perpetual confederacy, without ceasing to be, each individually, a perfect state. They will together constitute a federal republic: their joint deliberations will not impair the sovereignty of each member, though they may, in certain respects, put some restraint on the exercise of it, in virtue of voluntary engagements. A person does not cease to be free and independent, when he is obliged to fulfil engagements which he has voluntarily contracted.

Do you know if such words had been written anywhere else in the world it would be Treason? Do you know Switzerland was the *ONLY* place in the world where such words could be written and the author not be arrested?

Undermining the authority of the King was serious business in 1758.

LOL, well, that says something about the quality and education of people working in government agencies, doesn’t it?

The story continues from there. The employee didn't know that Washington DC was an entity. He first tried to enroll me as born in Washington State.

When I told him no, Washington DC he couldn't find it in his computer and that is when I told him to try District of Columbia.

Even after that (that is how it was listed), he had to call his supervisor because he couldn't get over that I wasn't from Columbia and needed naturalization papers.

The supervisor just made an entry on the computer and said nothing to either of us while doing that. Then she just wandered off.

But others have stated that India does not have dual citizenship.

If India does not have dual citizenship, then Vivek is only an American citizen, and has no citizenship of any other country

(Haley, Ramaswamy and Harris were all born in the USA so they pass the test for eligibility to be POTUS)

That’s completely false. They are citizens by statute via the 14th Amendment.

So what if they were, it doesn’t change the fact they are eligible to be POTUS, even though none of them should ever be POTUS, they are still eligible and arguing over this is pointless and a waste of time.

218 replies and counting. And Freepers cannot agree on the meaning or definition of natural born citizen.

We’ll see if any others can shed light on this. Many have presented their evidence, but clearly have not convinced others that their interpretation is correct.
