Why would anybody in 2023 go on a Caribbean cruise with his face completely covered in a ridiculously oversized thick leather mask? It sort of defeats the whole purpose of what it means to relax on a cruise. On our January 2023 Steve Kane Radio Show cruise aboard the Celebrity Apex to the Eastern Caribbean there was ONE passenger aboard ship that wore such a ridiculous mask. I've told the story about that guy several times times. However, today while watching my review of the Apex Ocean View Cafe I noticed the mysterious masked man popping up in the last couple seconds of my video. I slowed him down and zoomed in for an analysis. What is your explanation for why anybody would currently still be wearing a mask aboard a cruise ship? It could be that he was just plain NUTS!!!

I can’t see how a leather face mask would do any good at all. To the contrary, it would seem to be harmful to the wearer.
I will still give mask guy a break. Perhaps he has a serious disease that makes him hyper-aware of the “germs” of others. I can’t believe his doctor suggested that mask. But mask guy could just be scared. And scared people often do unwise things.

I wondered that too, but the type of mask is still weird.
But he was there to eat, and if our guy was so interested, why didn't he follow him and watch him take off the mask?

Don’t much care how hyper he is as long as he doesn’t try to force me to wear one. There are some people who are immuno-compromised and he or a loved one might be at risk of not only Covid but flu, norovirus, etc. Live and let live.
I do worry, however, that if some predictions on the effect of the Covid vaccines come true and immune systems are depleted or otherwise affected, that only the “purebloods” may wander about unmasked in the future.
