That's a very pretty aquarium! I just have a little 2 gallon tank with a betta fish in it. He seems happy in his little world. :-)

I spent my free time this morning looking for famous grandmothers and wasn't able to find anything. Happy Thomas Edison Day to you all also!

They brought us some work to do, we'll be working on it for at least a couple of days next week. So again with my absence!

OH NO! Just when you think you're safe from giant crawdads from outer space, it's Thomas Edison Day and you have to deal with an electric sea spider!...

where are the fish in that photo?...

I only see one in this shot, a Yellow Tang.

He has a clown fish and a few other varieties of salt water fish, they must be hiding. He also has emerald crabs, shrimp, lots of living coral, feather dusters and anemones and assorted other ocean thingies.

This shot shows the clown fish and the Yellow Tang. There is a firefish also, don't know where he is.

I am pinging my son, just in case he happens to be lurking. Maybe he can explain better what is in these photos. :-)

tulip's fish was depressed for a while.

Oh, that is sad, tulip. I take it that your fish snapped out of it? :-)

When my son had fish, I always thought a salt water aquarium would be great. The salt water fish are so colorful.

I find watching fish very relaxing. I hope your son comes by and tells us about the other living creatures there.

Yes, but they take a LOT of work and patience (and money). My son started out with a fresh water aquarium, but I guess it wasn't challenging enough, and the fish aren't as beautiful as salt water fish. He graduated up to a reef tank and didn't have any idea how complicated it is maintaining the chemical balance of the water. But it's his baby. He loves finding new corals and fish to add. It is an impressive tank. Actually he has two 80 gallon tanks (I think) plus one "hospital" tank for fish that need to be quarantined. It's one of those hobbies that keeps growing and growing. LOL

I enjoy watching the activity in his tank. It's like a whole world unto itself. And, unless you look very closely, you miss the little emerald crabs and shrimp crawling around the rocks.

The clown fish and the anemone seem to be co-dependant. The clown fish actually will bring food to the anemone. The ecology of the tank is fascinating.

What happened???? Did you get washed out to sea?

It only rained about 1/4 inch here this morning but I heard about all of the flash flood warnings in the LA area.

I would like to remind everyone that Edison was a bit of a poet also.

Who can forget his "stirring" rendition of "Mary had a little lamb"?
