Hotel Guests Sue Over Vegas Condom Shocker
The Smoking Gun ^ | 7/18/2006 | Staff

Claiming that their young daughter discovered a used condom in a Las Vegas hotel bed and then put the rubber in her mouth, a Scottish couple is suing Caesar's Palace for negligence and emotional distress. According to a lawsuit filed July 13 in Clark County District Court, five-year-old Caitlin Kilcoyne found the condom during a July 2004 Sin City visit with her parents Gerald and Jacqueline. Caitlin "found a used condom in the made up bed in her room...and placed the condom in her mouth," notes the complaint, a copy of which you'll find below. The Kilcoynes contend that, following the incident, they incurred expenses for medical treatment, hospitalization, x-rays, drugs, and "evaluation and treatment of Caitlin's condition." The lawsuit does not indicate what, if any, lasting damage was caused to the child. The complaint, which seeks in excess of $10,000 in damages, claims that the family has suffered "shock, horror, fear, anxiety, and distress." (6 pages)

What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas.

I was surprised to see how Vegas tourism authority uses this slogan quite literally in their TV commercials. They have a series of commercials showing people lie, cheat, etc. while they're in Vegas.

Actually there are quite a few fun family things to do in Vegas. You don't have the gamble the whole time you are there. I've been researching it.

Our family, including a 6 year old and 4 month old are going this year for my dad's 60th. We will play at the wave pool at Mandalay Bay, go to the shark aquarium there, check out Mama Mia, Aladdin's Castle, Treasure Island, the roller coaster at NY NY, etc. All great activities for kids.

Then at night the old folks will watch the kids while the younger folks will do a little gambling.

Fun for all ages.

Why would you take a 5-year-old to LV?

She's all you have as a marker?

Yes, it may be an attempt at extortion but it is better to pay than to have this story running for another news cycle.

And I'm sure they'll get paid. They are wise in only asking for a paltry $10,000. This doesn't even qualify as pocket change for Caesar's Palace. They probably sweep more money than that off the floor every night.

Most of these scammers ask for exhorbitant sums like $50 million or some windfall amount.

Sometimes it pays not to be too greedy!

Maybe she wasn't the Rubbermaid, but this whole thing can be traced to the illegal hotel maid...Maidenform.
Without her in the room earlier, the condom would never have been left!

There might be a civil suit to the illegal maintenance worker, El Trojan!

" My God, give it a rest for an hour or so."

Exactly what the lady said just before the condom ended up in the bed.

I find it hard to believe this was found at Caesar's of all places!

The El Cortez, yeah, I would believe it, but not Caesar's!

My best friend in high school left one in my dad's bed while he was out of town. He was so furious when he found it that he threw the matress out in the yard.
