Yeah, I realized it did link to ABC, but there have been 'fake' CNN pages, etc... There was a sattire about him confessing to killing another famous child that was ridiculous, but that people were taking it seriously. I think I have to stop worrying about how stupid other people are.

I do think there's been a little bit too much fascination with Karr's background. If Karr didn't do the crime, all the other stuff is irrelevant to me. Maybe he's weird. Maybe he had a crummy upbringing. He's far from alone in that regard.
It's sad that the media can report Karr's whole family tree but nobody has yet to place this guy in the state of Colorado at Christmas 1996. That's what is really important - that and whether he can be matched to DNA. The rest is all meaningless until those two things are established. Hell, at least Richard Jewell was in the area when the Olympic bombing occured. This freak might not have even been within a 1,000 miles of Boulder.
While I'm on a tangent, the link that Stlnative linked to diagrams of the basement at the Ramsey home. Being on dial-up back in the 1990s, I don't think I've ever seen a map of the basement.
Two things stand out. 1) The "wine cellar" where JBR was found is a room off a room off the basement hallway. I don't think it's a room a stranger will find on their own. 2) A washer and dryer are in the basement. Wasn't Patsy washing clothes the morning she discovered the ransom note? Was she taking those clothes from the bedrooms down to the basement or did they have a second washer-dryer upstairs? If the washer-dryer in the basement is the only one in the home, then that alters the whole timeline to me. She's practically *at* the crime scene while she's doing the laundry.
I believe Patsy had just gotten up from bed and was coming down the stairs when she saw the ransom note.

Quientana Ray married Karr in 1984 at the age of 13 after he took her over state lines to Georgia and had her lie about her age.
The marriage was annulled the following year.
Ray said she barely knew Karr and has had little contact with him since their annulment.
"I was just shocked," Ray said. "I didn't know him very long. I didn't know him but just a year or so."
Ray told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she was "wooed" by Karr, but he later became overly controlling.
