What's usually so ironic in scenarios like that is that the people with the most knowledge to contribute to the case don't talk and the ones with the least talk a lot.

I wouldn't say there is "more evidence" of an intruder. in fact, we see with the Karr allegations, the things an intruder would have had to do inside that house to pull it off. not easy.
the parent's behavior in this case was, to say the least, strange; as are some of the anomalies in what they told police, Burke being on the 911 call tape, etc. if something did happen that night, the parents had total control of that house for hours. still, there are missing pieces in the case against a parent - motive being the #1 thing, why did it happen, what triggered it?
Oh, yes, he's been following all the coverage -- TV, newspapers. Probably not the Net, but all else, according to handlers - avidly.
Had to leave early this morning, so just now seeing news & internet material--last night it seemed to me that the media in general is very peevish about the lack of leaks in this case, and are interpreting this lack as "no evidence." That may very well be the case--but I did have to chuckle that the media's feelings are hurt because no one's leaking info to them!
He actually did a great service to many people by upping the ante in insanity pleas. They seldom work nowadays, except for the most obvious ones, like Andrea Yates.

I agree with your second sentence regarding motive. but not the first part - there are cases of parents strangling their children, putting them in ovens, starving them, drowning them, all sorts of brutal acts.
No. She died of strangulation; that cord was imbedded in her neck so deeply that Det. Arndt and John Ramsey didn't even see it when her body was brought up from the basement.
I'm not medically inclined to be able to explain it correctly, but basically, manual strangulation cuts off the air supply more quickly than the blood supply to the brain - and often breaks the hyoid bone.
The garotte cord was 3/8" wide and had a slip knot at the back that was tightened - possibly slowly, loosened, tightened, loosened. It wasn't moved from its track, only slightly deviated upward from it, so that is just a theory.
There's also the possibility of a vagal response to the cord tightening, which slows the heart almost to nil. The vagus nerve is a cranial nerve. The response is to constrict both the blood flow and the air supply. When done purposely (pervs do it for fun), it can kill.
so. you only find that out AFTER some kind of indictment/arrest, in the context of which they face some form of mental analysis. ted bundy was a sicko too, he was walking around for years and no one could tell.
Although much of the known evidence points to someone in or close to the family being the killer, it's hard to imagine a parent having that much rage against their own child. Yet we know some parents who do scald their infants to death for crying too much, or lock them in small rooms for years on end, etc.
After reading the "repulsed by her baby" article, I have a much more clear understanding of how a parent might commit a rage killing on their own child.

Ted Bundy ws not accused of killing his child. Parents are scrutinized first and when they don't coperatoe other poeple are always happy to add their opinions. There is no such evidence that either Ramsey parent was loo-loo.

and let's be honest - this whole beauty pageant thing - i've seen some documentaries on them, the relationship between the mothers I see in those documentaries, and their young daughters, is not what I would describe as "normal". that's not to say that they are all pre-disposed to murder, I am not saying that. but still, I see two things when I look at that - mothers who are living through their daughters, perhaps they wanted to be beauty queens when they were young, but couldn't. and the second thing you observe in some cases is, a competitive relationship between mother and daughter - centering around beauty, talent, etc.
I'm not clear at all what the child porn charges actually involved. They found images on his computer - that's all I know. Were they his - IOW, did he do the porn that's on them? Were they gathered in the course of his "project"?
Someone here said that he sent them to the school district where he worked as some kind of "kiss off" statement, but I sure haven't seen anything like that reported. I was told I was wrong when I said Hutchens turned him in when she taped things and kept track of emails. Just so odd that he was arrested right after she did that.
I ask that because I've followed this case for many years and I've never seen anything like that (porn or child porn) even without a filter, but have heard of others accidentally clicking on a web link and getting into some nasty stuff.
There was an admitted pedophile who posted on one of the JonBenet forums regularly for a long time (ick) and was in one of the Central American countries near where JMK traveled and lived for a couple of years.
He was the first one I thought of when Karr surfaced. I feel certain they probably hooked up somewhere, somehow, but I don't know how far back. Going by Hutchens' timeline of March 2001, that certainly sounds in the realm of possibility.

OReilly had a segment last week on these "teen models" websites, where parents (fathers and mothers) are actively promoting this, for cash. all I am saying is, these cases to me, don't appear to be what I would describe as "normal" parent/child relationships.
I've wondered if Wex goes online to forums and things. There was a mysterious old man from GA on one of our forums a few years ago who said he owned worm farms. (Nearly everybody said odd things to keep their identities from being known for real.)
He kept hinting that he was "someone" who would surprise us - especially who his son is. I was thinking when Wex originally said that John told him he was being held in CA for JonBenet's death - this was back in 2001 when he was in jail in Sonoma County - that maybe that was Wex who got online to some of the JBR forums and toyed with people. He even sent a bottle of champagne to some of the posters at one of their gatherings.
Someone probably knows who "Ellique" was, but I don't. I didn't get into all those poster mind games and didn't care who anyone was unless I made friends with them offline, which I seldom did, or if it were someone harrassing me. There are probably more things like that I could think of, if I put on my memory thinking cap. Don't really want to, unless it would help - like on some of the basic case questions that have already been hashed and re-hashed a million times, lol.
