Could someone please tell me how to do this here on FR?
Thanks
ibtz??
FR is HTML-friendly.
Yes. Post images, but don't break the bandwidth because some are still on dialup.

And how did I get the angle brackets in? Well, my post was:

The < turns into < and the > turns into >
The semicolon separates the meta-symbol. Please don't ask how I posted the meta-symbols -- my head would explode.

The last link above, Cheatsheet, has the image posting info on that page, try that 1st.
A note of CAUTION. When you DO post an image, either .jpeg or .gif be careful with the pixel size - which you get from its properties. It may look small, but its size may in fact be larger than the screen (say like 1200x1400). That big picture also creates havoc loading the page for those on dial-up.
So learn to resize the image. You do that by inserting 'height=xxx' and 'width=xxx' before you close the tag. HOWEVER here on FR only ONE of those commands is required to keep it proportional. I normally use 'height=xxx'.
Have fun.
UNCOMPRESSED - (19.2 K)
COMPRESSED - (10.2 K)
You don't lose that much detail and it sure speeds up download time for us folks on dial-up. Especially with large pictures, which can also be comressed waaaaaay down, pixel-wise.
See, I compressed the word, 'compressed' and you didn't even notice it. ;)
Just kidding.
The FR forum software allows you to enter HTML code. Most tags are allowed. Those that are not allowed are automagically removed. Remember that anything that looks HTMLish will trip the filter and assume that the post is in HTML rather than plain text. Posting a mock tag like </sarcasm> will cause the whole thing to be interpreted as HTML. (Which means that line feeds will go away because they weren't <br>s and you'll be teased by people telling you that paragraphs are our friends!)
If you don't feel like learning HTML, and if you're using Firefox, you can download an extension called Xinha Here!. I just now used it to compose this post. To use it, you simply right-click in the form's text box. One of the options on the context menu will be "Xinha". You can chose between a editor in a pop-up window and one at the bottom of the screen. In that editor, type as you would normally and add whatever formatting or images you like. When you're finished, click OK and the HTML code for what you've written will be inserted into the form.
