The place has been empty for 15 years...

While exploring your new property you find a large barn.

The door is padlocked and welded shut and it's all rusted solid.

So you grind the padlock and the welds off and........."

How the Heck did a Ford Taurus get in there?

Well, I used to drive a 1989 Ford Taurus... so that is more than 15 years ago. I really didn't see a Taurus in that picture... might have been some other Ford.

I found the answer... We both assumed they misspelled Taurus as Taunus... but they didn't!

Ford sold a car called the Ford Taunus in Germany from 1939 to 1942 and 1948 through 1982.

The Ford Taunus in the Barn.

1961 Ford Taunus... looks like the same model.

CHA-CHING!!! Talk about striking gold!

I'm not a big time gear head, but I think I'd even love taking part of the mass restoration project in there.

Not exactly an “archaeological” find, but a discovery nonetheless.

I’m assuming they are stolen, but could be wrong. Much of the “find” could end up heading toward the rightful owners, but then it would depend on the law where the barn is IMHO.

Thank you. Splains things. And, to tell the truth, I misread ‘Taunus’ for ‘Taurus’. (I’ve ‘bout exhausted the drugstore eyeglass option...)

i recall a story during early ww2 when the british were preparing defenses against invasion. they found a good site for rr guns and went out to look at the area. seems tracks were already there so they followed them to a big shed. inside the shed were 2 rr guns from ww1 in excellent shape. a pensioner came over and said he had been paid by the governmentt lo those many years to look after the guns.

Thanks for the links, lowbridge. I did the standard FR search and found nothing... sometimes I wonder about the search routines on FR. Still its fun to revisit this “buried” treasure tale.
