Ok, so imagine you live in Portugal and your moving your house. You find a lovely farm house set in a decent plot of land. The place has been empty for 15 years!
Whilst exploring your new property you find a large barn in the trees. The door is padlocked shut and its all rusted solid. So you grind the padlock open.........

(scroll down)
........
.........
and this is what you find inside......

Whoa, that's freakin insane.
It's a blessing from Nascar heaven. :)
If his hobby wasn't restoring old cars before, it might be now :~)
Looks like they've been kept pretty dry... just covered with dust.
a quick check of license plates, vin numbers etc will also reveal if they are stolen... and who the rightful owners are
The were propably used by Mofia hit men and then stowed away.
Yeah! What you said.
I'd be in car heaven.
OK, 2J, I thought of you when I was on the other thread about this, but this one has better pictures!! Check out the red bug!
No, no, no
Check out the yellow Lotus 7!
What barn? What cars? :')
NO NO NO -- check out the white porche 356!!!
Got it.
Previous owner ran a towing business. These are held awaiting payment.
Hmmm...big barn.
ping
Two, TWO Formula cars!!
Sweet!
I need a grill, lower valance and chin piece for a 1937 Chev...
After 15 years?
Check out the Cutlasses! Is that a Fury next to the '68 (I think) Olds?
Way cool!
HOLY KRAP !!!!!!!!!
LOOKY !!!
Wow! That's better than winning the lottery. I can't believe that someone sold them the property and didn't know what was in the barn.
a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I was wondering if they were stolen too. There are some beauts there. One looks like a '37 - '38 Buick. What a great car with a straight eight. I knew a mechanic who owned one. Ran so quiet you could walk right up to it before you knew it was running. Pure torque too.
I didn't notice any old trucks though.~P~
I think one was a truck but you can't see the back of it to be sure. It looks like a '46 Chevy. I know it's pre'47 because Chevy truck was the same from '47 - about '52. Even to first half of '55 it didn't change much but the one in the pic is different.
Maybe it's a European car. It's pic 7 from the top. There is a nice Jag in there too if I'm not mistaken.
Anyone have old barn, not looked into?
Would probably have a lot of problems...mainly infestations and if any fluids were left in them, it would likely be very thick sludge.
Remember when I pulled the Beetle out of the field...remember that sludge that had slowly dripped from the gas tank? It was thick like rubber.
But that's nothing that can't be overcome!
Guy I know (not at all well) owns a lot of interesting toys (some of which have been shown on the Discovery Channel and the History Channel). Some of his lesser known toys include a two story barn with 50 vintage automobiles including pre-war Mercedes.
So, it's a safe assumption you're not in the will?
It's a safe bet that ALL of them will need extensive rebuild work.
Lot's of fun to be had...
Makes me think of the Rush song "Red Barchetta"
Not bad, once you wash off the decades of bird poop, rat droppings and bat guano!
Heck... our trucks have been having infestations just here in the driveway... we've had mouse nests in our glove box... and I think they're in the vents. Ugh.
Might have to fly you out here to show us how to take that stuff apart.
Bet on it.
Anyone have access to the actual inventory? I'm curious, but not so much so to look it up.
Boy. Jay Leno has REALLY let his collection slide, LOL!
What an amazing story. :)
I was thinking Jimmy Hoffa. Cars are way better.
I am so jealous I can't see straight to type this.
Bump for tomorrow so I can show my coworkers.
Heh, when SirKit went to crank up Gimli early last Spring, he found that some critter had been chewing on the wires. We had to replace some parts. We know it was a critter because it left some hairs behind. We're thinking it was a racoon or a fat squirrel, by the length of the hair.
Awwwww. It was fun while it lasted.
