The absence of the parent chloral hydrate in the blood of Miss Smith suggests that her death did not occur immediately after a large ingestion/administration of the drug; due to the extremely short half-life of 4 minutes for chloral hydrate and since the chloral hydrate was a liquid preparation.

Miss Smith had a peripheral blood TCE concentration of 75µg/mL and TCA concentration of 85µg/mL which is consistent with her having received repeated doses of chloral hydrate over a couple of days. A general therapeutic range for TCE is 2 to 12µg/mL
The TCE concentrations found in the blood, liver, brain, gastric and duodenal contents taken from Miss Smith are similar to literature concentrations (i.e., blood, 55µg/mL; brain, 91µg/g; liver, 200µg/g; and gastric, 5g) found in a fatality that occurred 3 hours after ingestion of chloral hydrate6.

This suggests that she took a significant dose of chloral hydrate in the hours preceding her death.

j. Chloral hydrate may result in jaundice or icterus in cases of chronic toxicity. The absence of these findings suggests an overdose resulting in acute toxicity in this case.
b. If most cases of suicide, the victim ingests a large amount of a drug to insure death. The bottle found of chloral hydrate found near Miss Smith was only half empty.
c. In many case of prescription drug overdose, multiple drug levels are elevated. In this case, all drug, except chloral hydrate are at therapeutic levels.

I didn’t believe the first reports the FBI was involved. I see they were interviewing Ricco on an Anna issue (breast video) so maybe they are making a sincere effort to not let these murders pass by. I hope it is true but I am not 100% sold they are or will do a thing about it. I can’t remember an honest police effort of any kind against Indians since they won their world. Somehow they have been allowed to become The great political Untouchables.

I never assume when it comes to COPS. Seen some startling bungles and messes that should never be.. but .. happens all the time. I would ASSUME a dead body would never be moved by COPS from the scene where it was discovered without an ME and strict crime scene control.. but..
I would ASSUME when a young man dies, you would lock down the room, test, investigate, refuse access. But..
An ex-boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith who is serving a six-year sentence for making criminal threats against her wants a piece of her inheritance, according to documents filed with Los Angeles Superior Court.
Mark Hatten, who lists his current address as the Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, dated Smith in 2000 but was later found guilty of threatening her with a knife and assaulting one of her neighbors. He was acquitted of stalking her.
He filed his claim Wednesday in Superior Court.
Repeated calls Friday to his representatives were not returned.
Hatten’s Web site says he is writing a memoir entitled “Hollywood Bad Boy: Sex, Drugs, and Anna Nicole.”
Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26. He died in 1995.
The reality TV star and former Playboy Playmate of the Year had fought Marshall’s family over his estimated $500 million fortune from his death until her own death earlier this year.

1) the autopsy report did not prove chronic long-term use of ch. Is this finding contrary to KE’s claims that she had been using it since Sep ‘06?
2) If Anna had ‘tea’ by her bed, and pedialyte in a baby bottle (huh?), why did she show signs of dehydration?

The administration of oral potassium salts to persons with normal excretory mechanisms for potassium rarely causes serious hyperkalemia. Hyperkalemia may complicate any of the following conditions: chronic renal failure, systemic acidosis such as diabetic acidosis, acute dehydration, extensive tissue breakdown as in severe burns, adrenal insufficiency or the administration of a potassium-sparing diuretic (e.g., spironolactone, triamterene or amiloride) (see OVERDOSAGE).

I always wondered if the neighbor who was assaulted was KE.
Remember, Capt. Gibson and Brigitte TOTALLY disappear after Anna is found dead.
They talk about everyone (Howard, Moe etc..leaving Anna at the same time but have NEVER said where Gibson was between that time and the time Howard arrived at the dock.
Did Brigitte leave BEFORE the Medics and police arrived? Was Gibson waiting in the Hard Rock parking lot?
Why haven't we heard of any communication after Anna's death between Howard and Gibson and Brigitte on that day? She wasn't interviewed until she got back to the Bahamas. I assume they are Bahamian citizens and can't be forced to testify....against Howard.
Capt. Gibson...was the Capt. of the boat for the phoney marriage....BUT, he likely also had the power to satisfy the marriage "in fact"...the license just never got filed. (Special Law of the Sea).
