Many eerie parallels to today’s events.

Same here or as I imagine it when Obama and his followers take over.

Doomsday Book was amazing. In fact, I've enjoyed almost everything I've read by her. Bellwether is a really fun read, too. She also wrote one of my all-time favorite short-stories, "At the Rialto."

I know what you mean. Although I loved most of the Jodi Piccoult books, her writing style is kind of different too, sometimes that can effect your reading experience.

I have never been a Western fan, but found The Virginian by Owen Wister and The Lonesome Gods by Louis L’Amour to be interesting reads. Chaim Potok's book are good also. The Chosen is one popular book of his. As was discussed earlier Connie Willis writes some really good time travel books. My favorite is The Doomsday Book. I read far and wide. lol My favorite religious author is CS Lewis. He covers many a genre. :)

If you enjoy character sketch fiction you will enjoy the Miss Read books both the Thrush Green and the Fairacre series. there are a total of about 36 books total.

Gives you a glimpse of what England was like prior to the takeover.

Thank you so much. I’m sure everyone is happy that you shared this here also. I think I need to buy that DeBunking 9/11 myths to answer all of the wackos that email me with those crazy stories. Will check your website!

I heard a lot about Lovely Bones but haven’t read it yet. Jane Austen is great and I’m a Williams Sonoma lover too!
Thank you for sharing all of those intriguing choices!

I love nonfiction that read like novels, it’s like you’re enjoying two different genres at the same time. Thank you for those, they sound very interesting.!

Not quite a Harry Potter ping, but you all read some really great stuff and I’m sure can recommend a book or twelve.

I hope everyone is having a great summer!!
