But that may be a result of the ham-fisted editing - which seemed to cut her off mid-thought on many answers. ABC should release the entire, unedited interview, so that Americans can judge her more fairly.

My favorite part was when they were talking about how man’s actions might contribute to Gorebbel’s Warming and they cut to a standalone picture of the pipeline behind them.
Gee - not trying to send a subliminal message there are you? Do they think that intelligent Americans can’t see right through that sh!t?
Wonder if Kristen is a PUMA?
I used to hate Powers, but lately she’s really toned it down. In fact, she almost looks like she’s secretly thinking about voting for McWhatshisname/Palin!
Kirsten has been angry at the way Sarahs been portrayed the whole time. I think she is the type of woman that has seen the light with the media.
Had President James Earl Carter, D.-GA met a foreign leader when he was elected, for anything other than a photo-op? Also, Carter was a Governor; had he also been the mayor of a town for several years? or any other municipality functions or offices?
Not referring to her interviews, per se, but her skill in using the power of editing and perspective in evoking emotional responses. Obviously, “Triumph of the Will” was an extraordinary piece of filmmaking, from the god-like descent of Hitler through the clouds as he arrived in Nuremberg, to the seemingless endless sea of Nazi soldiers in the square and the adoring crowds along the route of his motorcade. Obviously this is just a television interview but the principles of camera placement, subject placement, and editing can be a powerful weapon of propaganda.
Heck, even Frank Capra admitted that “Triumph of the Will” was so well done it scared the hell out of him.
New and improved!
I think it is a meaningless question since there would be very few former VP candidates who had actually done more that shake the hand of a head of state and engage in a few seconds of small talk. Wasn't Obama's first real meeting just a couple months ago on his European Odyssey?
That's what filmmakers do.
.
When an interview subject's lips keep moving after the end of an answer, it doesn't take a rocket science to realize something's fishy.
This is how they treat a woman on the very day she sent her eldest child to war.
By the way, did Charlie even thank her for that?

Actually, it is the Internet that has "neutered the liberal press". Without bloggers, sites like Free Republic, and sources like Youtube, the kind of "free-range" fact-checking of the broadcast media done here was very difficult. In the past, the only mechanism for such fact-checking was via the written transcripts, which only appeared in relatively small-circulation venues and could never over-ride the "mass media" effect. The Internet now makes what was once difficult very easy.
The MSM is still mentally in the world where they controlled all the venues of information transfer. They'll either wise up, or go out of business.
“Most Americans are so poorly educated on media tricks that they have no idea what editing can do. “
Media motto: Pretend this is the truth.
“The producer and editor did everything in their power to present a disjointed and visually unflattering portrait of Palin. “
Despite their expensive and amazing effort, I think they miserably failed.
“McCain campaign has had a continuously fair and balanced approach by Fox. Not to have had a first run with them is inexcusable.”
Nope. Get the bad stuff out of the way first. Let people have time to see it for what it really was.
Then, have an interview on Fox, later. Have the last impression be the positive one.
Riefenstahl made excellent films. None more powerful than “The Triumph of the Will” which extolled Hitler and the nazi party. The camera angles are magnificent, including a camera mounted on a flagpole and automatically controlled. Yes, her choice of subject matter is regrettable. Her film on the 1936 Olympics also invented the “tradition” of running the Olympic Torch from Olympia to the Olympics site.
In her early career, she was a beautiful actress. I’ve seen one movie with her in the lead and directing: “The Blue Light.” It is available on Netflix, as is “S.O.S. Iceberg” (which I just added to my queue). But she consistently lost leads to Marlene Dietrich. Hence her second career as a filmographer. Late in life she made aquatic movies/documentaries which I haven’t seen.
