The Christmas Party

The year has been a tough one,
Those kids grow up so fast!
And styles in toys may change a bit,
It’s better when they last.

It’s hard enough on elves, you know,
We have to work all year.
The Christmas party starts for us,
When Santa isn’t here.

Oh, yes we like to celebrate,
When Santa’s on his sleigh,
It means the cutting loose can start,
And last the whole darn day!

What happens at the North Pole,
We keep among ourselves,
But here’s a hint of what I mean,
There’s playfulness in elves!

So have a Merry Christmas,
We’re having one up here,
We’re storing up some memories,
Enough to last a year!

Most of all, a Joyous Holiday Season to Our Troops, past present and future.

I wonder if some FRiends at Amy's Place heard O'Reilly's show today. I don't know the name of the sub but he was telling of how President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney have personally met with and/or written a personal letter to the family of each and every fallen Hero in the War on Terror.

This is unprecedented by any wartime administration, something to think about.....

The Real Christmas Story

So Joseph also went up
from the town of Nazareth in Galilee
To Bethlehem the town of David,
He went there to register with Mary,
who was pledged to be married to him
and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came
for the baby to be born,
and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped him in cloths
and placed him in a manger
because there was no room for them
in the inn.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shown around them,
and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them,
"Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people.
Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you;
He is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign to you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths
and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host
appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,

"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men
on whom his favor rests."
