Were Dinosaurs on Noah’s Ark? (yes)

So, Were Dinosaurs on the Ark?

In Genesis 6:19–20, the Bible says that two of every sort of land vertebrate (seven of the “clean” animals) were brought by God to the Ark. Therefore, dinosaurs (land vertebrates) were represented on the Ark. How Did Those Huge Dinosaurs Fit on the Ark?

Although there are about 668 names of dinosaurs, there are perhaps only 55 different “kinds” of dinosaurs. Furthermore, not all dinosaurs were huge like the brachiosaurus, and even those dinosaurs on the Ark were probably “teenagers” or young adults.

I didn’t see this posted here yet and dunno if it has in these sort of “my God is bigger than your God” contests or not...

A couple from the Bible first...book of Job...The Behemoth was said to have a tale that sways like a cedar...and the Leviathan which was said to be a very large fish could very easily be the descendants of what we call dinosaurs today.

Another that I have never verified is a story of the 12th century king of Wales being eaten by a giant lizard or dragon...

any of the GGG folks who can say something on these?

You wouldn’t be planning a large reptilian zoo on a tropical island off Africa, would you?

I’ll just keep my Bible and call your prophets liars and trust that God is telling the truth. God has a better record than your prophets.

Q—> The Christians used to forbid us to eat meat on Fridays....and then changed it. Do you think Noah and company ate meat on Fridays? What about Adam and Eve?

Soon, we will know more facts about astronomic features that were only recently discovered in our outer solar system (1983-2003)

Perhaps we will soon gain understanding of the cause of events recorded 6,000 ago and more, such as the unimaginably catastrophic flood that is featured in the lore of so many ancient civilizations - events that occurred either at intervals or in cycles before history was recorded

2012 may be more than tin foil hat stuff- again, there is a basis for predicting events that will change life on earth (earth magnetism and polar shift) it should be unavoidably obvious soon

Or maybe lose the pride of your knowledge and approach it as a child, asking yourself what God was trying to teach through a Pesher, common literary tool at the time. Instead of assuming that God wanted a scientific text written, maybe He was having a morality tale written. Even Christ spoke and taught in Peshers.

Most of the time lines these sites use where 19th century creations based on the translations at the time. They didn’t even account for many original language issues such as Y’M (Yom) could mean a 24 hour day, or it could mean a 12 hour day, or it could mean an indeterminate amount of time (an ‘age’). Even the word Earth, has many used forms, from dirt to country to man to world. In this section of Genesis, the form is used to describe matter before creation, mountains, or dry ground, even dirt.

Maybe it isn’t that God or the Bible is ‘wrong’ but that man is, that we don’t know what we think we do. God did create the universe to reveal him, not to mask his existence.

..and men who claim to understand God seem to have the worst record.

You do know the Earth is round and not the center of the universe..

Have we measured the orthogonal distances from the earth to the edge of the universe, to confirm that we are, or are not, at the center?

Just askin'

They may have been babies for a few weeks, but the rate of growth would have made them as large as or larger than Sherman tanks in the several months they where isolated in there.

Thats funny, I do not recall God ever writing anything or signing his name to it.Oh yea, moses did go up the mountain, couldn’t control his followers, needed a set of rules that had authority, since no one listened to him anymore, and thats his story and he’s sticking to it.

The problem isn't “creationism”.
It is the “young earth” version that drives the credibility issue.

“Perhaps, to the author of Genesis, it appeared that the entire world was flooded ... but it would be impossible for the human writer of Genesis to verify that”

I think the book of Genesis was written by Moses. It seems reasonable that Moses and other prophets would have made sciptural writings to the best of their abilities, and if there are errors of observation, this does not (IMO) render the Bible doctrinally false. Moses was not a direct witness of the flood, as he was born long after it happened. So he was either relaying a verbal or written account of the flood, or he was writing based on direct revelation from God, I’m not sure which. If he was relaying a previous account, it seems plausible that some changes could have been introduced to the account unless he was using a direct record written by the hand of Noah. Even if he was using an account directly written by Noah, it is possible that Noah himself thought the entire earth was covered with water even if it wasn’t, because Noah would be describing events from his point of view.

Yes, and so did God when He told Isaiah to write about it in chapter 40. Maybe the Pope missed that one a few ages ago but that’s because he was never much of a Bible reader. There is so much scripture that speaks of a young earth that if wasn’t true, the whole Bible would be discredited. The very idea of sin being the cause of death and suffering is nuked macro-evolution. Zillions of years before Adam sinned in the garden dinosaurs were dying and suffering. Why? Because God is cruel?
