Where Will the Bikers Go Now?
abcnews ^ | May 9, 2009 | PATRIK JONSSON

Motorcyle Enthusiasts Turned Away From Popular Myrtle Beach Rally Spot: As the women at the SBB biker bar here greet the six o'clock hour by jiggling to a blaring version of Kid Rock's take on "Sweet Home Alabama," Bob Johnston leans back, flips his flip-flops off, and ponders the state of America's biker culture. The party inside the saloon notwithstanding, the news ain't good, he says. Just up the road, Myrtle Beach, S.C. -- the site for 68 years of the world's largest Harley-Davidson rally, drawing nearly half a million riders annually -- has effectively tried to shut down the event this year. Inside the city limits, a local helmet law and a ban on noisy tailpipes is likely to keep most riders at bay.

“If so, when will others (Jews, Whites, etc.) be justly compensated for their ancestors being slaves?”

Just like Black Spring Break.

Go down the road to my hometown of Georgetown instead. Just 30 minutes away and the beaches are nicer.

I would rather have my knee cut out than ride a trike.

You ever work out of Belle Isle Marina?

Repeat this ad infinitum:

"What they are really trying to shut down is the very large “Black Biker’s” group (that gathers there also) due to excessive crime, violence and generally depraved behavior. They can’t stop one and not the other"

THAT is truth behind this.

Last year I posted an article citing the possibility of Myrtle Beach's rally ending because of those people.

There were several incidents of rape and murder that led to this insane decision to stop *all* rallies because of *theirs*.

I'm sorry that I wound up being right.

More Obama voters ruining everything for other decent people...*again*.

Belle Isle was a little too preppy for me. When I ran out of Winyah Bay (over 300 trips at night) we were commercial only and docked at Rainey Catheau’s over on the Sampit River. (I also ran a 95 foot converted dragger out of Georgetown Shrimp for a short while, but it was a bad deal.) I ran charters out of the old Inlet Port Marina in Murrells Inlet from 1978. The last charter that I ran was in September of 1984 on the 54 foot Sportfisherman, The Connie “D”. She burned off of Little River the next spring.

Just running this through the ol’ filter. But if you really want to get rid of your “problem”, just have the SC police make them feel “unwelcome” ;)

If the local business owners [some of whom get well over 50% of their year’s revenue from bike week] won’t grow a pair and fight this, then screw ‘em.

I’m sure some other town will be more than happy to pick up all that cash.

Some guy west of us started an “East Coast Sturgis” up in the mountains and when it first started, it was cheap and fairly unpopulated.

Now the tickets are tripled in price and in spite of that, it’s getting incredibly crowded after only a few years.

He turned an empty, useless mountain top pasture into a million dollar business in 4 years.

The one little out-of-the-way hillbilly bar nearby and the mom & pop gas station up the road are positively overjoyed with all the money they make every July.

“Excessive crime, violence and generally depraved behavior.”

Those seem pretty good reasons to me to shut down the Myrtle Beach ‘biker culture!’ From what I’ve seen of Myrtle Beach, it is a pretty nice place with sand, surf, banks and golf courses. Why should that town allow itinerant low life to offend, assault and insult the citizenry? Bye-bye, bikers. The citizens of Myrtle Beach will not miss your disgraceful and disrespectful behavior. Take it somewhere that is used to such behavior, somewhere like NY or NJ or CA.

Have you gone outside of your house since November?

*Everything* is changed.

If you are white, you are the “minority” now and you’re in the cross hairs.

Case in point, in all my years around bikers, I have NEVER seen anybody touch another person’s bike without asking permission, first.

In the Wal-Mart parking lot last week, some tall skinny black chick was actually *fondling* the artwork on my tank.

When hubby raised hell about it, *she* copped an attitude.

[if you haven’t heard some regional variant of “We be runnin’ the country now!” yet, you really need to get out more]

Not surprisingly, as she and her mom stomped away, snarling, I got a chance to see her “OBAMA! America’s First Black President” hoodie.

We live out here in our polite little cracker world but *have* to go shopping in a more “multicultural area”.

Since that one entered the race, I can not believe the animosity and venom openly displayed by his “supporters”.

Even ladies with whom I had regular, friendly conversations with at the store checkouts seem to have lost their minds.

After *years* of giggling with them in the checkout line, I’m suddenly ‘the enemy’?
Or....was I always and they were just suppressing their hatred?

I treat others as they treat me.
No more, no less and with no bearing on color/creed/whatever.

Obama has destroyed that, too.

Not that this rally mess this affects me, mind you, because I have never been to MB nor did I ever want to go.

I do not like crowds of *any* kind.

It’s the principle of the few ruining everything for the many.

[typical liberal modus operandi]

“itinerant low life”

Painting bikers with a rather broad brush, aren’t we?

The majority of bikers are veterans.

Have a nice day.
