A western New York man accused of beheading his wife at the Muslim-oriented television station they founded will claim he was a victim of years of abuse at home.
Muzzammil Hassan (moo-ZAHM'-mel HAH'-sahn) was in a Buffalo courtroom Friday, where he fired the lawyer who has been representing him for nearly a year and hired a new one with a different strategy.
New lawyer Frank Bogulski says he'll pursue a battered-person defense.....

Muzzammil Hassan, and his wife Aasiya Hassan of Orchard Park, NY, near Buffalo, pose in an undated photo. Police say Hassan beheaded his wife after she filed for divorce. Hassan, CEO of Bridges TV in Orchard Park, NY, launched the network in 2004, to improve the image of Muslims in the media following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
I don’t care if she deep-fried you, you still can’t behead your wife.
Transcendental epic fail.
Once a musklim, always a musklim
God bless the soul of Aasiya.
(like the burning bed syndrome except reprisals include the use of big rocks or large knives)
She beat him? Oh, all right then.
He’s just a 225-pound innocent. She, a comparative wraith who had filed for divorce, is clearly the bad guy here. How can there be any doubt?
Way to “improve the image of Muslims,” eh. Murder someone, then whine that you were beat up by a girl.
It's time to wake up - trust none of them.
You can take the head chopper out of the turd world nation, but you can’t take...
Oh pleeeeeze.....the poor woman probably filed for divorce to get away from the abuse she was being subjected to. These muslim men, I don’t mean that all muslim men are all alike, but, on the whole they seem to be a pretty weasley, chicken bunch.
This happened quite near me, we have a sizable Moslem community (Yemen primarily) with a couple of Madrases that attract students from all over the US and Canada (remember the lackawanna 7 ?? One of the earliest groups caught?? ...
This TV station was a big deal with the muslims ... and so they would have been important leaders in their community
There is no doubt this was an honor killing but I suspect he will end up pleading insanity
