FreeRepublic censorship?

I am a bit bothered by this repeated encounter with censorship on your site. This is the second time that I have encountered censorship on your site. The first time was when I was removed from being allowed to post for expressing that FOX News does not represent true conservatism, and it doesn’t.

John Robinson sent me one kind email saying that the reason was that they typically get trolls and identify them for attacking FOX News. The second email that came from John immediately after was that he wished me the best of luck if I tried to expose the censorship on FreeRepublic against conservatives that apparently exists if you do not bow to the current politicians in power and owe your loyalty to the now less than conservative Republican party. That was rather rude, but I did not pay it much mind.

Today I was surfing and came across a site I do not agree with on all levels, but tried to make a post about some revealing facts that presented on their site about the perversity of Disney.

As a conservative who would put any average Republican to shame with my traditional values and economic view that makes Reagan look like a two-bit haircut in a black and white movie, I would love to hear why this one is censored. And, as I told John, I can easily take these issues straight to conservatives who do not feel that Club GOP represents conservatism on the Internet with my web development skills.

I also just noticed that your site has made it impossible to highlight text in fields for posting in trying to copy and paste this link. On the one hand, I do believe in driving out stupidity from the Internet. On the other hand, I believe that only liberal leftist propaganda need be removed. I am beginning to wonder what makes FreeRepublic think that one conservative is acceptable rather than another. I think that conservatives like me would be interested to know the limitations you have obviously coded into publication on your site.

As I said, I do not agree with everything I read on the site I tried to link, but they did a very good job of exposing Disney on the link above.

You know, I think of myself as a pretty literate guy, able to read many things from technical research papers to a lot of the confused troll posts here on FR, but trying to read your post and follow your... ahem, “logic” was a bit of a difficult exercise. It seems that your reading comprehension and your ability to write comprehensible English leaves more than a little bit to be desired.

First you say that you were “removed from being allowed to post for expressing that FOX News does not represent true conservatism, and it doesn’t.” How were you “removed” from being allowed to post? You’re still posting, right? So you weren’t removed. Maybe your writing that you posted was removed, but that’s a different thing. A number of people have pointed out the fallacy of your premise regarding FOX, so I won’t reiterate that here.

I’ve reread your paragraph about JohnRob’s emails to you and I still can’t really find any way to understand what you wrote. I think this is an example of your lack of writing ability rather than my comprehension. YMMV

But from past experience, I have the feeling that what he wrote to you was polite and understandable. Just the opposite of yours. Translated through your lack of reading and writing ability, I can see how it would come out different.

As someone has said, you should consider yourself lucky if any of the Robinsons sent private emails to you as their time is limited and valuable and should not be wasted on illiterate trolls. We’ll leave it as an exercise to the reader to determine if you fit into that class. Numerous opinions abound here already.

I have to assume [from what little I could get out of your mostly unintelligible rant] that this happens to you a majority if the time. But then you state “I got a message saying the source was not welcome on FreeRepublic.” Again, another proof of either your lack of reading comprehension or inablility to understand the basic rules of posting on FR, which by the way, are pretty clearly laid out and posted for your enjoyment.

Your reference to Reagan to prove that you are sooooooo conservative just shows your abject rejection and ignorance of what conservatism is even about. What you seem to be is an “extreme fundamentalist”, which has proven to be a not too desirable platform on everything from ‘conservatives’ to Baptists to Muslims. And I’d probably put the emphasis on the ‘extreme’ part with you.

I went to the link you posted about Disney and again the only thing that I can come up with to describe it is ‘extreme fundamentalism’. It seems to be a hate filled rant surrounding a few scarce facts. I can understand why it probably isn’t the best thing to be posted here. Neither would a hate filled skinhead rant, or any other hate filled group’s rant.

Believe me, I have a passionate dislike of the terms “hate” or “hate filled” [I was going to say I ‘hate’ them but...], so I don’t use this term lightly. But I suspect anyone who wasn’t such a knee-jerk extremist such as yourself would agree that this type of material probably isn’t the kind of thing that should be posted on FR. [That would be maybe 99% of FR readers, I suspect.]

While many, if not most of the people who read FR wouldn’t object to the “Jesus is savior” idea, I have the feeling that most would also agree that something posed from jesus-is-savior dot com website may tend to be a little much for the rest of the non-extremist population, even as religious as they may be. Especially a rant titled ‘Walt Disney is EVIL’. [You DO understand that Walt is dead. Has been for a long time.]

Many posters use bold, italics, font colors or sizes, etc. to emphasize or highlight things in their posts. In fact there’s even a page referred to as ‘html sandbox’ that shows how to do this. So your newbie-ness and lack of constructive intelligence is showing.

What makes the above statement the source of even more hilarity is your statement that “And, as I told John, I can easily take these issues straight to conservatives who do not feel that Club GOP represents conservatism on the Internet with my web development skills.” If, as you proclaim, you have great web development skills, you should already understand the basic html that many have used on here to “highlight text” in their postings. Interesting conundrum. Or at least, laughable contradiction.

Onward and forward: You state: “On the one hand, I do believe in driving out stupidity from the Internet.” Yet you are still posting! Obviously not a sincere belief.

Then you go on to rant: “On the other hand, I believe that only liberal leftist propaganda need be removed.” Like, who died and made YOU god? Are we to believe that you hold the golden key of infinite knowledge which all should bow down before and all agree with YOUR decisions regarding what exactly is liberal, or leftist, or propaganda? [”Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” immediately springs to mind. Use your superior cut ‘n paste abilities to google it if you don’t know what it means.]

Then you continue to drool and dribble: “I am beginning to wonder what makes FreeRepublic think that one conservative is acceptable rather than another.” I dunno, maybe it could be a certain level of reading comprehension. A minimal grasp upon reality. A basic ability to write sentences that the average person can understand? Or maybe it’s just that it takes understanding the rules for posting material on this PRIVATELY OWNED forum. [Hey, didja notice how I’ve been using these clever techniques to highlight my text? Even without purposely using HTML.]

Then you conclude [finally, thankfully!!]: “I think that conservatives like me would be interested to know the limitations you have obviously coded into publication on your site.” If you weren’t such a newbie and had put as much effort into learning what this forum is and how it works, you would know those things. On the other hand, I realize that for the average person, those things would be easily found. For you, not so much.

I read a really great statement the other day that seems to have been written with you in mind: “I am sure you wrote it thinking you were the smartest guy in the room. I am happy to find out that the room is empty, save for you and you still don’t get to claim the title.” I think that it describes you perfectly. All in favor- say “I”.
