Vanity- Looking for a TV series on DVD to begin watching. Any suggestions?

I don’t watch TV, but I own a few series on DVD that I watch in order to avoid commercials and to watch on my own time.

I’m looking for something that doesn’t insult my spiritual or political (Christian Conservative) beliefs. And I don’t want comedies that exist on juvenile sexual innuendoes.

I love and own the first five seasons of LOST and THE OFFICE. I have the first two seasons of 24, but quit when I saw that the producers are too cowardly to depict Muslim terrorists not backed by white corporate types as the bad guys. I also have BAND OF BROTHERS and the first 10 seasons of THE SIMPSONS.

I was thinking of getting the first season of SCRUBS except I’m uncomfortable watching with my 16 year old daughter because of the frequent sexual situations.

I heard good things about CHUCK.

Any suggestions for a series I can get into?

I’d go with Prison Break. 4 seasons + a final 2 hr special.

Chuck is fun. It is good, non serious fun. Plus one of the stars - Adam Baldwin is a wildly outspoken conservative in real life. Also hot babes. I call that a win win.

I don’t see any forensics there, but I have enjoyed both Bones and NCIS. There are 12 seasons of episodes right there.

+1 on bones. its the only show i watch.

I’m partial to the oldies — Mary Tyler Moore show, Taxi, Cheers, Frazier...I don’t know if any of them would offend your Christian sensibilities though.

I am thinking of getting the Carol Burnett Show on DVD. I have lots of fond memories of that show.

I second his vote for The Unit, also. Fantastic show (and the origin of my handle).

‘I'm looking for something that doesn't insult my spiritual or political beliefs etc.”
And you have The Office?
One of the stupidest shows I have ever seen. If you like Sci Fi how about Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis?

'Frasier' is my favorite show. Then 'Star Trek: TNG'.

'Law & Order' during the Jerry Orbach/Chris Noth years are awesome if you like that kind of show.

Foyle’s War series is great. Don’t like any of the others you mentioned. I’d rather see “Absolutely Fabulous” or “Red Dwarf” than the ones you posted, if we’re talking English stuff.

Have you ever watched “Foyle’s War”? It is British and is very good. It is a little PC but then this is during WWII with a British take on it.
