Masons found a full set of silver Masonic jewels stashed in the attic of Corinthian Lodge AF&AM in Concord, Massachusetts. The link goes to a news video. They say the set is handmade and 200 years old.
The jewels are worn by the various officers of each lodge. They are literally a badge of office. Paul Revere was the orginal Master of Corinthian Lodge, and, of course, a silversmith. If these were made by him, they would be quite a treasure.

But, the cloth case looked fairly new, despite the varmint damage. No fading, for instance. A mouse did similar damage to my BBQ cover in one night.
They must have replaced them over time.
We have a Bible that was grabbed out of a lodge in Mexico just before Zapata’s goon squad got there. A few other things were also liberated. We used the Bible for decades, until its historical signifiance outweighed the damage done to it by constant handling. We replaced it and it is now kept in a glass case. Many members know very little of its history. In another fifty years, I wonder how many will understand its true worth.

Knowing how large a roll Mason’s played in the founding of our country, I have often wondered if the majority of today’s Mason’s have gone the way of the progressive movement, or do they still feel strongly about our constitution as the rule of law and not a living document.

I appreciate a thing of beauty. And wear a cross/plume jewel once a month myself, in a lodge I have been a member of since I was 21. (now 62) My great grandfather missed being a charter member of that lodge by 2 weeks. It is over 100 years old.
We have a special reverence for many of the “founders”. They were giants of men, even the small ones like Madison.
The English Freemasons still refuse to release their membership list to the government. They probably have cause.
Jack Straw made a stink several years ago about that, and oddly the Mullah’s in Iran noticed.

Two members of the lodge, John Ritchie and Randall Oxley, were working on the brick building about a year and a half ago and found a bag hidden among insulation inside a wall pocket. They didn't look into their find until 18 months later and were shocked to discover the bag contained a set of medallions with Masonic seals representing various officers' positions within the lodge, similar to ones used today.
