After unpacking and setting it up, (Oh yeah .. they gave you neat pictures what plugs in where, but ... THEN what ?) ... I had no clue what to do and for the first time since high school daze ... I was seeking information and acting on what I learned.

My fear of typing 'sex' or 'pornography' into the search engine (netscape? .. I forget), but craving the jolt of massive information, I typed in "free"
I guess it was google, I don't know, but a ton of things came up and I think FreeRepublic was around the second page.
My screen name is the result of my clevirity and quick thinking (because when I signed up, I didn't know if I had a time limit to sit and think ... so knarf is my name backwards.

I was trying to find out who to vote for before the 2008 election.
I didn’t want to be a stupid voter, the likes of which gave us Lord Zero.
I knew MSM was lying to us.
Also, it felt pretty good to be in a place where I don’t feel like a freak for leaning hard right.
FR is not just politics.
If I want to know about anything at all, I usually check here first because so many FReepers are so knowledgeable.
This place is a gold mine of information.

Stumbled on Free Republic back in 1998 while searching for an article on Abraham Lincoln for my daughter’s school project. A pic of ‘Ol Abe was on the FR home page back then. Lurked for four years then joined in 2002.

I was lurking on this site for years before I signed up. The ProtestWarrior guys told me to post here for help in their operations in Madison. I did that and signed up.
I followed a Drudge link to the big Impeach Clinton rally in DC.
Later, I came to FR to get real and honest news on the 2000 Florida recount. I learned about Fox News here during that time.
The recount was the scariest time for our country in my lifetime.
Political operatives openly trying to steal an election, throw out legitimate votes and count nonexistent ones, dig for votes only in Democrat areas while shutting out Republican ones...
I didn’t actually register until a few years later, so I could post my political cartoons here.
I clicked the WHITEWATER link on Drudge, back when the Monica Lewinsky story broke. Never looked back.
I had to look at my sign on date. April of last year. A lot has happened since then. I lurked for a couple of weeks before I finally joined. I’m used to being pretty vocal about my views and I got in a few conflicts after I first joined.
I think it was Reaganman who said I wouldn’t last 40 days. Which, to me, was hilarious because my dad worked for the actual Reagan man.
