I don't know where this will lead. I may consider starting a website and find out how many names will sign on to send the GOP a message.
We need to make sure the party (execs, ops, voters, donors) knows that if they throw Sarah under the bus, they will lose us. and then the election.
A lot of people are afraid to support her because they buy the media myth that she can't win. We need to send these people a message that the bigger concern should be losing Palin supporters from within our party.
We need to take a stand and take control of the party right now. We (the tea party) are the reason the GOP got the 60+ seats in the house. they can't win in 2012 without us.
time to be bold
I just wish her voice was better. I have difficulty listening to her speak despite loving the content. Maybe a voice coach to take some of the squeek out?
I am not being childish. I am worried about the future of my country. As a father, I fear for the future of my country. So I can either sit on my hands and do nothing or I can fight, and I elect to fight. Gone are the days of playing nice. We need to make a statement to the media and the establishment in D.C..
Don’t be childish. We have a process. There is no way a 3rd party can win, especially this close to an election.
Not to mention that there are other good candidates that may enter like DeMint or Pence.
Look, I will vote for whoever isn’t Obama. I would prefer to have campaigns first. That is what they are for. We get a chance to see the candidates side by side in debates and such.
I never get to choose who wins in the primary anyway. Indiana doesn’t have the primary until May. By then it is decided on the GOP side. I refuse to get petulant and turn this country over to Obama for 4 more.
There are several candidates (Barbour, Daniels to name two) who I believe are much stronger candidates in total than Mrs. Palin.
Why don’t Conservatives simply take over the GOP?
Its not childish to fight for what you believe in. We can’t let the media think they will get away with trying to destroy conservative candidates anymore. And we can’t let RINO’s think we are in their pocket like red headed step children.
People in serious leadership positions don't have the luxury of thinking like this (or not thinking, actually). 'Making a statement' is what children are about, what children do, what immature adults do. Not what serious people look to accomplish with their sweat equity.
However, it seems you`re making a similar mistake, just as the Hardcore Republicans, in following a person or party and not principles. Principles override any person or PARTY! It`s at the heart of the failure of the "Lesser of two evils" approach, a party first approach and damn the principles. Well without rock solid principles how will a person resist the political cesspit that's D.C.?
Without principles, we`re guaranteed a whole new click of self promoting politicians, a new ruling class and not self disciplined Conservative legislators or a limited government.
Status Quo?...well if Palin runs on third party ticket then count on the “status quo” of having Obama (or whoever the Dem candidate is) for another 4 years.
Did we not learn anything from 1992? Palin’s better looking, but the result would be the same.
Look, I think your heart’s in the right place. But this kind of talk borders on idolatry. I don’t accept it for Palin any more than I would for Zero.
Kinda, if the choice were between a weakie GOPer (think McCain -ugh- here) and a scorched-America Marxist (you-know-who), I would support the weakie.
The Marxist can do too much damage.
For some background, I have two "kids" who currently wear the uniform, and many others in my extended family. I worry every day what the current administration will do the military, and our defense.
I also worry about an elimination of our borders, something that couldn't be undone by a series of Palin presidents.
There are many excellent candidates for GOP nomination. Thune, Cantor, Palin, and other excellent possibilities.
My biggest worry (and you can bet Marxist Obama's probable plan) is for a renegade candidate to take votes from whomever the GOP candidate might be. They might be cheating the vote anyway, so this would be all they need.
Third party = Obama scorched America.
.
You are being childish. Go join Conservatives4Palin. I gave you the link. They’re activists. She communicates with them.
You seem to be totally unable to see how this slavish devotion does nothing to help Palin.
In fact, her supporters will derail her by creating an Obamalike rerun. No one is in the mood for that again.
I, like most people, do not want an ultimatum. It will be only people like you who will be responsible for a trainwreck.
I don’t think Palin would support your premise either. If she wishes to run, fine. I hope she does. If she runs and is able to get the votes, that is fine too.
But playing games and posting a thread like this is not going to help her.
the rino expect the conservatives to vote for them, yet they do not return the favor. They claim only rino can win the general. Who say? If conservatives do not vote for rino, how do they win?
Third party candidates elect Democrats. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the Massachusetts governors race from this past election.
I’m in, too
I think it is premature to be so do or die. Two years is a lifetime in politics.
I like Sarah and she did energize the base including me to vote for McCain. II would have voted for him anyway but at least she gave some hope to a dismal campaign. The Tea party and conservatives did very well this year working with an existing party. Look closely at the numbers in those wins. Where any of those wins big enough to afford to split the vote? Look at the influence we have had already and not one candidate has been sworn into office yet. Whether to Republicans let us or not is not the point. We should continue to flex our muscle within the Republican Party. Get involved. Make them see the error of their ways. There will be two races to fight for one for the nomination and one for the president.
Sarah is working towards the same goal. She is keeping her profile up there. She is reaching people that are not into politics with her TLC show. Making allies by supporting Tea Party candidates that win.
There is too much at stake to risk it all on a third party. Yes we should send a message to the Republican party and that is you can leads us with real conservative values, follow our conservative values or get the hell out of the way.
I don’t think losing elections is considered nearly as important as cleansing the party of actual conservatives. Republicans are always happy to “lose honorably.” RINOs have always been uncomfortable when in the majority because they believe the Democrats are the natural ruling class and Republicans exist to soften the edges of Democrat policies and to make their implementation more cost effective and efficient.
