Check the official web site for Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital. According to the information there, the name of the hospital at the time of his birth should have been Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital.

Hawaii now says they have certified this copy. So legally, that ends the issue. It's entitled to Full Faith and Credit.

I was looking at Deninger’s site earlier and downloaded the PDF file from the WH website. I happen to be a graphic artist and prepress specialist so I analyze these types of files all the time. Without a clear understanding of how Hawaii produces these documents, it’s hard to determine if it’s outside the norm. That being said however, my experience tells me that this is a hack job.
The “AUG-8 1961” date stamp at the bottom is very suspicious. The “AUG-8 6 “ part is green ink and the “19” and “6” part of it are black ink. They are separate pieces of the document as well. The “Mother’s Occupation” of “None” is also a separate piece. I wonder if this is deliberately weird to create MORE controversy or just a bad hack.

According to the Hawaii dept of health, when they take down the information from the parents that will be used to fill out the B.C. they ask the parents their race and simply use whatever they say without altering it. Makes sense.

I keep posting the same question on different threads. Does anyone know who the Local Registrar was in Honolulu in August 1961? The reason I ask is the Registrar listed is different on Obama’s BC from the Nordyke BC, although, they were born at the same hospital 7 days apart.

Yes I think I’ll retract my concerns about the name of the hospital.

However, this layered, composite BC has me concerned. Can any of you Adobe experts explain whether or not a scanned document can be created with layers from that single scan? It would seem that this could only be created digitally and not from a single scan of a physical document.

5. 4/27/2011 - Passes it around to lapdog media

I don’t think any common folk could secure their records just with some letters unless they had a POA and/or a notarized request. Also, he gets someone local to communicate to the the state requested a waiver of state policy that allows only for the dissemination of computer-generated “short form” documents.
