What a ridiculous design flaw. Why didn’t the cabinet maker just put a drawer there?Ummm, because there's a sink in the way? It is a clever way to use wasted space. I wish I had one in my kitchen, but not enough to install one.

That little flip-out thing? They’ve been putting that kind of thing in kitchen cabinets for years. Not when we were young, of course. ;’) My next kitchen will have that. It’ll also have a rack on wheels going back into a deep narrow closet. :’) And the jacuz’ will be in an adjacent four season room.
Wow, I’d better go watch some sports.
