Disposible Heroes and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Two of the best War Heavy Metal Songs ever. Well can’t forget any of the Maiden War Sons. Where Eagles Dare, Tail Gunner. Bruce Dickison was a lyrical genius with the War War two knowledge..
Flight of Icarus, Wasted Years...
I live in NYC and saw them a few years ago. Amazing concert! Maiden is simply amazing on many levels.
I have so much respect for Maiden it’s not funny.
High N Dry was much closer to AC/DC. Pyromania was more glam.
Metallica - One
slayer - mandatory suicide, ghosts of war, angel of death
megadeth - holy wars
Maiden has a knack of making classic songs. The new stuff sounds classic to me. I think Steve Harris said something like “Yeah, we are really good at the 7+ minute song.” And they are.
Freegards
I am more of an American Thrash Metal guy ala the Big 4, but maiden is incredible.
Live After Death is probably the best live metal album of all time.
hey made that song Mother Russia and I was shocked how well they captured the historical feel, ambiance, and context.
same w Paschandale song they did.
Hey if you want an amazing album based on USA history that is pounding - check out Iced Earth - Glorius Burden.
Tea Party anthems in that album.
You know, if you just borrow your neighbor’s wheel chair for the night, the venue will shove you up front to the dis-abled area. That’d be a metal thing to do, right?
I agree completely. I chose it for my screen name because I love the album so much.
I guess you haven't heard their globull warming song, yet. (Another Way to Die)
Otherwise, yeah, they have some admittedly great tunes.

I will personally bitch slap anybody who says their candy-assed version of “Astronomy” beats BOC’s.
He cut his hair.
Samson wept.
Alice Cooper just keeps getting better.
“Along came A Spider” doesn’t have even one ‘bleah’ song on it and Welcome 2 My Nightmare goes back to his 70s garage band roots.
The mad man is immortal.
Like The Talisman and When The Wild Wind Blows.
Check this out for a great song with Alice Cooper singing part of it.

“I’m the master of toys
and all you girls and boys
are welcome to my wonderland”
Oh, how wonderfully clever, dear Malice.
[but that wonderland’s a nightmare....]
;D
Thanks for that...it made my day!
[am I the only person who’d like to see Alice star in another *good* remake of “Willy Wonka”?]
Oh thanx - I never thought of that - love the idea and will let you know how it works...but I won’t get shoved into a mosh pit, would I? But then, maybe I’d get someone in my lap...
;-)
