What to do with Romney?

Posted on 10/28/2011 10:01:28 AM PDT by EMG2012

Hi everyone-- I'm a longtime lurker of FR and just signed up to get your feedback about a question I am sure many of us are asking ourselves. As a lifelong conservative, I am concerned about the possibility (probability?) of Mitt Romney receiving the GOP nomination for president next year. Many of my friends are convinced Romney will win the nomination, but I am very concerned that if he were to get into office, he would not stand up for the conservative policies we desperately need after the past four years. I want Obama out of office more than anything, but how do I reconcile the possibility of supporting Romney? Is there a third party candidate to draft who could help us take back our country?

Any feedback from all of you is much appreciated-- I just don't know what to think at this point. Thanks!

Some of us have figured out that the dice have been shaved, the roulette wheel is weighted, the cards are tapered. You stop playing the government's version of "Three Card Monte."

So, you keep making all the appropriate noises, but the sincerity is gone. You look at a Crown Vic as a target, estimating angles, ranges, chinks in the armor, as a mental exercise. You make sure you can find moth balls and sugar and Karo syrup and ammonium nitrate fertilizer and nitro methane fuel, (RC model airplane fuel, with various fractions of castor oil, and Estes electric matches.), in the shops. Not to buy, just to confirm locations, like a submarine checking the horizon before going deep, again. You know the dope to dial into the scope of the .30-06 for every 100 yards out to 800, for the full house loads with the 200 gr Sierra Matchking BTHP, the ones that flatten the primer when fired...

There are people who won't believe what's happened, and even after the cattle cars start rolling, making noises about, "They still need us, they're civilized, logical, there are LAWS!"

Have you picked out the material for the Yellow Star they want you to wear?

I haven't "surrendered." First you have to clear the Zone, and then you start making alternate plans.

Eventually, there will be the word "wolverine" spray painted on the side of a burned out police car... I hope I can remember how to spell it.

I read you, but making doom and gloom comments on the board won't help rally the troop morale for such a time as you imagine.

Voting for Slick Willard, the political weathervane for the polo pony set, is really surrender. It surrenders the party as well as the nation. If he is nominated, the GOP does not win but he has the chance to permanently destroy the Republican brand by flipflopping on abortion, gay everything, cap and trade, whatever foreign policy stupidities are demanded by his fellow elitists, gun rights, welfare schemes, etc. etc., etc. With Romney on the ballot, Republicans will be too busy using their barf bags to get to the polls.

Romneybots are not merely liberals but they are useless cowards in the 2012 warfare of our lives. They would squander our best opportunity to crush the left since Ronaldus Maximus.

Also rule out Huntsman and Paul.

Get down to business and choose an actual reliable conservative and ride the crest of the wave in 2012. Send Mittens packing permanently. We do not need a pampered trust fund baby as our standard bearer.

I really Love Sarah. But she herself has expressed her desire NOT to be POTUS at this time. I think it would be disrespectful (as well as unconstitutional)to FORCE her!
Let's be serious; General William T. Sherman illustrated the situation perfectly when he responded to a "Draft Sherman" movement by saying, "If nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve."
He said that because he actually did not want the nomination. He had to go to that explicit length in his denial because it is traditional that candidates be coy about their intentions/desires because it can be seen as presumptuous to consider one's own self to be the best qualified American for the job of President of the United States.

Gov. Palin hasn't seen fit to quote General Sherman, not least because nobody but me is saying that we should draft her. Whether or not she would reject a draft, we do not know. Knowing as we do that she accepted the vP nomination only three years ago, however, can we not agree that any assumption that she would reject a presidential nomination if tendered seems highly speculative?

Seems quite obvious to me you’re just trolling.

Morale is a personal thing, and to know that there are others out there is to learn when you are 13 or 14 that you are not the only one in the world that has THAT kind of dream...

I still go thru the motions, I just don't believe in the efficacy.

As I posted in another thread, I will vote for the GOP candidate regardless of who it is, & will do everything I can to get the most conservative senators & representatives elected to push a RINO president in the right direction.

The GOP candidate will not be that degenerate liar and con man FLIP SLICK WILLARD RINO ROMNEY.

The Founders intended this to be a Republic, that's why a right to vote was left out of the Constitution.

Now that 4 Constitutional amendments and Motor Voter has made this into a Democracy, this government will collapse, as all democracies do.

Mass extermination of the domestic marxist enemy within isn't necessary or something that should even be joked about.

All that needs to happen is the following:

Senior military commanders need to round up the reds (the “Congressional Progressive Caucus” for starters) and put them on a couple of planes to Cuba.

Provisional military government for 6 months, then new elections for all congressional seats and the WH, incumbents need not apply.

Only tax paying citizens and veterans are enfranchised in the new Republic.

All amendments other than the original bill of rights are repealed.

The Capital is rotated every year to the State House of one of the Fifty States (no more DC Washingtonians)

“Dueling” legalized within Washington DC limits for good measure

Problem solved

Morale is a personal thing...

Oh? Then why did Tokyo Rose spend so much time trying to demoralize the American troops in WWII?

A steady drumbeat of doom and gloom most certainly does affect the morale of those who are exposed to it. It's insidious, and can even be considered downright evil.

Feel like giving up, or going underground? Keep it to yourself. Those thoughts aren't going to encourage anyone else to stand and fight another day.
