~Happy November Everyone~
Gathering For Winter
I found so many acorns
Under the falling leaves
Ill gather some quickly
And take them home with me
I have no mate or offspring
No friends or family near
So, I dont need too many
Ill just leave some of them here
Autumn will soon be in the past
That is clear to see
But Ill have plenty of acorns
And I wont go hungry
Ill stay warm and fed
And just enjoy my Winter life
But, Ill be back again next year
Perhaps, with a wife!
Teenie.....November 1, 2011
Enjoy it while it lasts! :) (Thanksgiving will be here before we know it! :)
This is wonderful..Thank you, teenie!
As you can see...Amateur here! :)
Love the framing!
The poem by nicknamebob brought tears to my eyes. He has a wonderful use of words! His poetry ability is a true gift.
During a business trip to Philadelphia, I walked down Broad Street toward City Hall each morning to catch the subway. Each day I passed a long line of people waiting for something. They were a cross-section of humanity in age, ethnic origin, and appearance. After wondering about it for 3 days, I asked a man on the sidewalk why all those people were standing in line. He told me that they were on probation or parole after breaking the law and had to take a daily drug test to show that they were staying clean.
This struck me as a vivid illustration of my need to stay spiritually clean before God. When the psalmist pondered how he could live a pure life, he concluded that the key was to consider and obey Gods teaching. Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes. . . . I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your Word (Ps. 119:11-12,16).
In the light of Gods Word, we see our sin, but we also see Gods love in Christ. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
By His grace . . . staying clean.
Read: Psalm 119:9-16
Good Morning Mayor, and ALL!!
Back after a brief break from posting and reading........
Lots going on here at our home..( major kitchen remodel, keeping up with grandson’s nightly homework, and dealing with sister’s home going...) but Fall is my most favorite seasons of the year and this morning I am full of praise and thanksgiving “ just because”!
This morning’s ODB a great reminder to stay in God’s Word!
Love to all here on this first day of November.
Welcome to November.....welcome to fall! That’s some poem and graphic!! Thank you!!
P.S. Does anyone know whatever happen to Billie?
What a sweet poem, Teenie!! (And you get the credit!! Good job!) Graphic is cute, too!! Thank you!
Happy November to you, Meg! Love your graphic and frame!! Thank you!! (p.s. Don’t eat too much candy today!!:)
I miss summer....
If you promise to hold me close to your heart...
And keep me warm...
We will venture outdoors...
And, I'll welcome the new season with you
To you also! I can’t believe it’s November...
And my throat is hoarse from all the cackling I did last night, I’d better put lemon and honey in my tea. Have a great day, I’ll check in later!
Oh, oh! I meant to put “BILLIE” in the ping! Between Lori and Billie, the graphics are always so beautiful!
Meg, that is such a pretty graphic. I’ll bet there is a hot apple pie sittin’ by the window of the kitchen in that old farm house!
As you can see...lots of people around here have the 'gift'...I don't! lol
Several weeks ago, I was cleaning out 'stuff' and found a book of poems written by my granddaughters 2nd grade class in 1995. I thought, if they can do it, why can't I? Lesson learned...they were much better at it! :)
"But, Ill be back again next year
Perhaps, with a wife!"
(And maybe even MORE!)
So lovely, Meg! Thank you for putting it all together so nicely!
I guess Fall is really here - and winter is just around the corner.
Poetry read aloud effects the heart, I find, wish it were mine.
Thank you, yorkie. *hugs*!
I don't either!!
But we all have our own special gifts!!
So there!!!!! :), :)
I’m sure NnB is still posting but he hasn’t been here for about a month.
Hey, Bob ..... where are you? Do I need to mess up another of your poems to hear from you? I can do that. *big smile *
I enjoy sharing the works of Freeper Friends.
Wishing you an Awesome November. Geo.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner as they say.
I’m not ready for either. I’m still not spending enough time on updating my genealogy for all of my nieces and nephews.
Lovely Graphic, Amy!
You all did a great job on Diver Dave’s prayer thread. And I thank both of you so much.
I will be on Amy’s as soon as I can. My motor is barely purring today. I had a bite of breakfast at noon! Its 1:00 here and I haven’t hit a lick at a snake so far.
See you sometime! (((HUGS)))
Too cute .. the little chipmonks are adorable.
The seasons are slipping away quite fast these days!
Oh, Pollywog! It is sooo good to see you! I have missed you!
Here is a site with the most incredibly beautiful graphics of fall scenery!
Welcome to Amy’s Place, MomToThree. We hope that you will be back soon and often. We try to provide a room for relaxing and friedship.
NnB has a real talent with words. It is such a good feeling knowing that I have an archive of his work with graphics by either Billie or MamaBear.
Have a Fabulous Fall.
Mayor, thank you for again helping us start the day on the right foot.
Have a Fun day and a beautiful Fall.
Good to see you. It does seem that the days are really getting shorter. I never have enough time for what I have planned for the day.
Hope you can stop by more often.
Wishing you a Fantastic Fall.
Don't see much of you these days! :)
Take care of that 'hoarse'! :)
Very nice, thank you!
Thank you, jaycee. And thanks for your supportive words that I used in the graphic. We didn’t ask if it was okay (at least I didn’t), but I didn’t have any doubt that it would be. :-)
Thank you, oldteen. :-)
Thank you, Deo. That beautiful poem was written by NicknamedBob.
Wishing you an awesome autumn.
I had the graphic and thought it needed just a little added something! :)
